Well, no.

He DOES want to play for TB, and Yzerman is assigning him to Syracuse. Even the offer to return to the team was a return to the AHL affiliate, not the big club.

I don't know if that makes it any better for Drouin, but it sure doesn't look like he's any more pigheaded than Yzerman is.

Tonight's prediction:

6-5 Edmonton win in regulation
Johnson in net because who gives a damn about his trade value anymore
Eichel and Reinhart put on a show for all 5 Buffalo goals
Girgensons shuts down McDavid, and all of Edmonton's goals come from secondary scoring

- sskkoo1

I wouldn't be surprised if it's some boring ass game and we play the trap game like always

Tonight's prediction. 2-1 Edmonton.
Neither McDavid nor Eichel score.

The games sucks and is boring.

I hear the Leafs aren't Tanking.................. is it true?
- SABRES 89

Not true.

However, at this point in the season they shouldn't waste assets on getting better.

Watched with my boy. He's 15.

I was a little busy with some chores around the house, so I may not have appreciated it fully.

It's such a shame that you almost never see 6-5 or 7-6 games anymore. I was watching Sabres brawls on youtube the other day and found myself think about how much I miss emotion filled games like those. Line brawl games are so rare now, the game has really gotten boring.

Who are your picks for Doral? I'm leaning toward DJ, Bubba, Scott and JB Holmes with Haas and Justin Thomas in the bench.

I just want games with substance. I cant tell you how many times i have watched a game and the first 40-50 minutes of the game are dump, chase, turnover, turnover, dump, chase, turnover, board battle, dump, change.

I keep hearing this(and feeling it) over and over. The official NHL twitter had made a comment this year about what fans want to see(if wasn't meant to be like rule changes or whatever) but the comment were great. The best one was "I want to see teams dislike each other and have it show on the ice".

Without scoring there are no momentum swings. Without momentum swings there are no emotions. Without emotions there is no animosity. Without (some)animosity there is no fun. They've taken ice hockey and turned it into baseball or golf. I'm not saying it has to be the Broad Street Bullies or anything, but c'mon. This is bull.

Jeremey White had a good rant today about that. He was talking about how he watched the Golden State v OKC game Saturday and Steph Curry's ridiculous game/comeback.

https://youtu.be/8pblZS6mry0

And he said, and I'm paraphrasing, "I just watched one of the greatest offensive performances, perhaps in sports history, and now I'm switching over to NHL hockey".

The inflection in his voice was to say, as a fan, what am I doing?

Love your post, it sums up my feeling well.

I know that this season, especially from here on out, there's not going to be much to root for with the Sabres other than a top draft pick, but c'mon, I can barely get through these games. Most games I'm reading a book with the television on mute. Some nights I just turn the game off a go to be because I know I'm not going to be missing anything.

Growing up I used to sneak a radio in my bed, hiding it from my parents because I so desperately wanted to at least hear the west coast games. My greatest fear was to go to school the next day and hear from friends how the game erupted. That's a thought that doesn't even cross my mind anymore. The way the game is played now is just one more reason why I stopped going. There's too many other things I can think of that I'd rather spend $100+ dollars on instead of driving downtown to watch what is tantamount to a practice.

My hockey watching isn't limited to the Sabres, but it is certainly dominated by the Sabres.

I wonder if some of this doesn't have to do with our team in the last few years. We haven't even been competitive, so it's impossible to think that anybody really hates us right now.

It has everything to do with it. The LA/CHI game was a slug fest.

The TB/WPG game last week was one of the most exciting games I have watched in a while. TB goes up 3-0, Paul Maurice gets kicked out, WPG comes back to make it 5-4, Tampa ties it a minute later.

We suck, and we play a boring style. No one hates playing us (maybe San Jose)

It will get better

Of course the Sabres being so bad for so long has something to do with my lack of enthusiasm, but overall I do believe emotion is down throughout the league. There are still great games that happen now and than, but there are not too many anymore where you see a network like ESPN showing the highlights over and over because it was just chaos. I miss the real rivalry and animosity that hockey once had.

Yep. I'm replying to you and Kaiser. I know the Sabres blow but I do watch a good amount of other hockey, mainly because I've been bored of the Sabres for 4+ years. I'll say this, there is an endless amount of games where nothing happens for seeming like forever, and then one teams scores and that's it. The game is destined to end 2-1 with the team scoring first winning 7/8ths of the time.

edit: The Sunday night Kings v Ducks game was amazing. It was exactly what you want in a hockey game.
