Careful "the real fans" aren't going to to like you talking about them that way.

I was about to post that its time like this I hate being a Bruins fan, cause no matter what Sweeney did yesterday, all the arm-chair GM's on here would've pissed and moaned about it. Camara was never going to make the big squad, the 3rd, 4th, and 5th were simply warm bodies for Providence. Dealing the second is the only mistake Don made yesterday in my opinion.

I said this on twitter yesterday to some complainers and i'll say it again, look on the brightside - If PC was still with Boston Eriksson, Liles and Stempniak would all have shiny new multi-year contracts at high cap hits and full NMC's.

Its amazing the difference in tone between the Bruins and Celtics fans. Celtics do nothing at the deadline and the fans praise that they kept there crappy core together.

Bruins make a few depth moves with irrelevant picks and the fans are ready to burn the team to the ground. I want to see competitive playoff games this year, which we will.

OH? I disagree with you. Fair points and all about people being armchair GM's and whatnot. I get it.

We will see how the rest of the season plays out. I'm far from convinced and until a clear vision of that this team is supposed to be makes itself visible, I refuse to get drunk on the Kool-Aid

They need an overhaul of the defensive group which is going to take longer than one trade deadline. They are rebuilding on the fly and they are a better team than people are giving them credit for. They certainly have some games where they unravel but I think they can make noise in the East.

The final bit of the schedule is rough. Lots of playoff teams on the schedule and some crazy travelling. If they make the playoffs I would be surprised, just based on how well they have done against stiffer competition this season.

The whole Loui situation kind of sucks no matter how you look at it. I just hate seeing players walk for next to nothing. But management believes this team is able to compete, so Godspeed.

Best case scenario is management gets what they want, Playoffs. Worst case scenario, they just miss again after getting beat by their schedule, lose eriksson, and then try and salvage the ship going into next year (which at the moment isnt looking very pretty).

Cheers

I'll burn with ship regardless but I invest heavily in this organization year after year. I will congratulate and criticize as I (frank)ing see fit.

Their record vs potential playoff opponents this season: (Caps, TB, FLA & DET) = 5-5 with 5 games remaining vs those 4 opponents. Could they make some noise, maybe but I just think defensively they are too slow to win 4 out of 7 games with one of these teams.

A 2 vs 3 match-up with FLA would be their best match-up to make some noise but let's be honest they have 13 games out of their remaining 19 vs teams currently in the playoffs. 9 games at home and 10 on the road with a Cali trip and lets not forget last year's disastrous STL, CHI trip.

Playoffs? Maybe but first they have to play some tough hockey down the stretch.

Canes fan here. Yes y'all gave up a lot for JML(more than I thought, the third was all I thought we'd get, if not a 4th because of age/cap hit) that being said the fifth is more than likely a throw in to beat another team's bid and Camara was clearly a dump to keep Boston at the 50 contract limit for Stempniak.

To give y'all a little relief JML is playing his best hockey since he was in Colorado this year and has played noticeably more physical and better defensively than the past couple years(shot suppression), and other than Faulk leads the breakout better than anyone on an underrated Canes blue line. He's also been a solid veteran mentor for our young defense his most common partner was Pesce 21yr old rookie. I think y'all will be pleasantly surprised with his play if you haven't been paying close attention to him all year.

As for Stempniak, um idk he was going to get a 2nd from someone, I see the 4th as making the Bs offer the best on the table.

Thank you, appreciate it.
Honestly didn't think of Camara as a dump like that, makes sense. But General Fanager lists them at 48... Can't think of anyone else I'd rather dump. Maybe Acciari, just cause he's 24 and I know nothing about him.

As I already stated, I think the problem is that they didn't sign Eriksson. So, I'll say they're innocent until proven guilty. If they don't sign him, then we can justify being pissed

You have got to be kidding me. I literally just mentioned Acciari, and now he's playing tonight? That's really weird dude.

I don't understand the logic here at all. You buy at the deadline, and stick Stemp on the 4th line with a nobody and Ferraro? Where is the logic?

Does ANYONE know about this Acciari guy? He's not big so he isn't a replacement for Rinaldo or Randell. He's not some PK specialist? So what? Why does this make sense?

He is supposed to be a solid fourth line center. That may seem silly, but read that he is a pretty cool kid in that, he wore the "C" for the Providence College team that beat BU for the national championship. Read by others he is underrated as a scorer. Supposed to be a smart kid on the ice.

Was a free agent senior college pick up. Local kid from RI. Good for him.

God that defense is terrible. Can't stand how K.Miller is a staple in this lineup. Praying Liles is in the form he was in during his Colorado days.

Also read that Acciari has a good shot to be the 4th line C next season, so maybe they want an early look at him. Excited to see what he brings, and let's face it, anyone is better in that spot than Kempainnen

Thanks Glove. So sounds like he will provide more of a physical presence than Vatrano would? I guess they do need some grit. But I don't understand why they send down Randell to bring up this nobody. And why not play someone producing (Stemp) with Bergeron instead of Connolly. Ugh. Unless they know they still have Connolly and want him to develop something with that line... Kinda desperate to make Connolly work out I guess. I still rather see:

Marchy, Bergy, Stemp
Erik, Krej, Pasta
Belesky, Spooner, Connolly
Ferraro Acciari Hayes

Read a puff piece on the Stanley Cup of Chowder that make this Liles guy seem like a top pair D-man. Well that may be a little much, but we shall see.

This is managements vision of the team and only time will tell how these two moves and the lack of moves work out.

I know this may get old, but the reason some of us "care" about this team and there moves is because we have been "diehard" fans for awhile and we don't want to see them turn back into the poopstorm they were for MOST OF OUR LIVES. (1 Cup in 40+ years.)

We obviously disagree on how they make that happen, BUT we all agree we want them to raise the Cup again ASAP.

The Bs have a PASSIONATE fanbase. We are also, not idiots. Bs management needs to "prove us wrong." That's there responsibility! We choose to watch...........they should "respect us" and give us a "reason" to watch.

Me personally....
I'm a fan that takes the time to watch every game the Bs play.
I plan around watching these guys, where I go what I do.
I read everything about the team ALL YEAR AROUND.
I watch the draft and read up on the prospects.
I take the time to read and post on this board, even though people may think I'm a douche.
I've lived through the 90-00's and the dumpster fire that was the Bs.
Cried when Bourque raised the Cup above his head.
I LOVE THIS TEAM. I choose to care about this team and I take the emotional ride with them.

As a fan the last THREE YEARS have been very rough. We have gone from being "on top of the world" to "classic mediocre." We have also bought sweaters of these players THEY talk up and run commercials for and then throw away. I'll watch them because in a sucker. But they better make a deep playoff run now.........

Celtics are FUN to watch. The Bruins are not.

I think it is hilarious that "I'm a douche" fell on a new line.

I really feel the same as you do (my wife knows we have to get to the gym early on game nights). I've even had mornings after late games where I'm at work and have a colleague start the game at the 3rd period on gamecenter so I can keep watching without knowing the score.

I've dressed my bar/pool room with Bruins swag. (Currently trying to acquire a Joe Thornton signed jersey for the wall).

My colleagues know to watch the scores the night before because it is how they determine whether I'm happy or pissed off the next day.

We do bleed black and gold, but at the same time, we may be too passionate and take it too seriously at times. And we also believe we have better ideas than these GMs and coaches, and sometimes we're probably right. But who knows what else is going on behind the scenes.

That's why we wait and see. They are the professionals. They should know what there doing.

If they miss the playoffs, get booted early in the playoffs, or don't find a way to completely retool the D for next season............then they are wrong. And they have failed.

Hence I'll be watching tonight to see the new product.
