Ya I came up with " He Stinks " but it wasn't towards Samson. Skunk came from Homie we couldn't understand why Sam was hated so much.

Ahh, I thought it was. Well, never mind then. I guess I'm the bumhole I started posting again/more right around that time in mid-summer, so I wasn't sure where it originated. I just remember it being your location for a while.

Do the Sabres buyout Moulson in the offseason?
- Punch70

Doubtful, not this year.

I don't follow that logic

Stamkos will already know what teams are interested in him & who will offer big bucks before July 1st

If he decides it's Philly,
Us trading for his rights prob does nothing to change that

If he decides it's the Sabres...
Waiting a few days most likely doesn't change his mind either

Unless we get some kind of info that says he's undecided & we want the extra time to "woo" him...
Bring him to Buffalo, show him around, etc

But if that's the case...
I can't see us give anything too significant up

We'll just have to see how this all plays out
I think the only any of us know for sure is that we'll be in the mix

I basically got the tickets for free because I have relatives that live in Florida and they gave them to Florida people first and it was $0

On Capfriendly the numbers are some what digestible. He's shot, but maybe they give him one more year.

IMO Stamkos is the type of player that is worth it but we have to watch the money not only with Stamkos and Eichel but with any other players we need to move forward.

The Hawks have done very well doing this, i'm sure we can also.

- SABRES 89

U can see what one mistaken contract does though
Signing Bickell to that deal cost them Sharp or Saad

There will be tough choices for us down the road...
Those choices prob get here quicker with Stamkos

We also get to contender status quicker with him as well

I say go for it

Well Biron just hammered Hedger with a T shirt cannon.

That kind of deadline day

- Sabresfan-365

Onrait and O'Toole did an impromptu segment on Fox Sports Live tonight called "Bad Idea or REALLY Bad Idea?"

On it, they just repeatedly played clips of Martin Biron firing a t-shirt gun at Jennifer Hedger.

I think u can make a case that his production has gone down bc he's playing with pretty average linemates
Presumably, he'd get paired here with Eichel
Obviously we can't project what he'll do going forward, but it seems reasonable to think he'll perform well with all the talent we'll have up front

- jdfitz77

Hypothetically you've got a long term issue. O'Riley has shown he can and really should be a center and at this stage of his career he's not only a top six forward but a top line guy. Eichel was drafted to be a center and I guess in this situation you could have him on wing until 4-5 years from now and O'Riley moves to the wing or 3rd line center spot but I don't think that makes much sense. If we're playing that what if game here and we got Stamkos he will surely only come here if he is given assurances he will be a center. Conversely we can't necessarily offer him what teams like Toronto can in the fact that he wouldn't be the lone face of this franchise. If that is what he wants.
If he wan't to win and play on a young dynasty in the making we stand a great chance but if he wants only be a center and the main guy which most big profile guys like him want, we may have a problem.
Reinhart would automatically move to the wing in this situation.
Another thing to take into account is the fact that we may win the lottery and that would give us yet another center but that's too complicated of a scenario and to be honest just thinking about a Matthews, Eichel, Reinhart, O'Riley, Stamkos, Kane top 6 has my head spinning

But those are just some interesting things to ponder in this fantasy situation.

I don't really doubt what he's saying...
Just the extent of it

Like when he said we were trading Ennis & Foligno
Didn't actually mean we were shopping them, but probably just that we would trade them for the right deal

With the Stamkos case...
What I take from what he's saying is that we're going "all in" after him

Good luck Leetbred you're the only one left that posts in here! The number 1 team is a Sabres fan apparently, but he or she doesn't post in here that I've seen/remembered.

Probably not. I'm guessing they keep him another year. Something to do with his contract forgot where I read that. But they save more money if they wait till after next year. Maybe they hope he can turn it around rest of the year and if not then maybe they buy him out after next year or bury him in the AHL.
Whatever they do hopefully Eichel has his own digs next year..

Yeah, he said a a few times that they want him "at any cost", but that's not true. They wouldn't give up Eichel for him. I highly doubt they'd give up a top 5 pick for him for a crap shoot, they wouldn't give up Risto for him. There's a bunch they wouldn't give up for him.

It's just to do with when you buy out a player the buy lasts for twice the amount of years remaining. So if he had two years left we'd pay him and count against the cap for 4 years. But if there's only 1 year left it only counts for 2 years.

I think you're making too many assumptions
But u do raise some talking points

I'd have to think that Murray will go over this kind of stuff with Stamkos before he's signed

The only thing I know is that we will go after Stamkos

We won't have to!

If not, nothing we can do about it

I agree that it makes sense to wait to buy him out
Also...
He can't get any worse
If he somehow rebounds, then maybe we can actually trade him
