I don't think we've announced it yet
I'm guessing season ticket holders would get dibs
Then some kind of sale to the public

It's definitely something I don't want to miss. I can't remember the last time it was in Buffalo.

Calm down friend you are not the only one with a source, no matter if he hits the open market or he doesn't, the Sabres will be all in. It's not about money

And do you think it is worth it...long term?

Scoring has gone down over the past 5 years as far as the top 20 goal scorers go...i.e., those top 20 aren't producing goals at the same rate as 5 years ago.
What is pretty cool about it when you look a bit deeper however, is that the the Top 3 and Top 5 are slowing down faster than the Top 10 and Top 15 have been. So, one could conclude that paying a max payout to 1 guy is likely to be less efficient than picking up multiple "lesser" players...I.e.that distributed scoring is the better approach rather than putting all your eggs into one basket.

I do think it would be fun to watch Stamkos in a Sabres uniform.
I believe it is too risky compared to other options on how to spend that $11-$12M annually.

I don't follow that logic

Stamkos will already know what teams are interested in him & who will offer big bucks before July 1st

If he decides it's Philly,
Us trading for his rights prob does nothing to change that

If he decides it's the Sabres...
Waiting a few days most likely doesn't change his mind either

Unless we get some kind of info that says he's undecided & we want the extra time to "woo" him...
Bring him to Buffalo, show him around, etc

But if that's the case...
I can't see us give anything too significant ups

We'll just have to see how this all plays out
I think the only any of us know for sure is that we'll be in the mix

Have Kane take him to Toronto by helicopter, that should seal the deal.

IMO Stamkos is the type of player that is worth it but we have to watch the money not only with Stamkos and Eichel but with any other players we need to move forward.

The Hawks have done very well doing this, i'm sure we can also.

I really can't imagine any more than a few hundred tickets being made available to the public after season ticket holders eat them up. And the ones that do get out will find their way to websites like stubhub that will charge 5x what they're worth. I would love to go but these tickets will be like trying to by super bowl tickets.

It was within a few years of HSBC opening. '98, '99? Somewhere in there.

awe, I wanted a picture of a skunk. I forgot who it was that actually came up with the nickname. I remember you were in a group of the few that started and perpetuated the whole joke "he STINKS" thing.

I think HSBC opened in '97? And I know it was very close to the time it opened to show it off. I remember watching a Bill Nye the Science Guy episode shot inside it while it was under construction. Something about volume.

I basically got the tickets for free because I have relatives that live in Florida and they gave them to Florida people first and it was $0

Ya I came up with " He Stinks " but it wasn't towards Samson. Skunk came from Homie we couldn't understand why Sam was hated so much.

Do the Sabres buyout Moulson in the offseason?
