Eh, Girgensons is good, but if he gets me a top line potential winger that can score, I do that every day and twice on Sunday.
- ImThatGuy

But he won't get that, and even IF he did, so you have a good top 6, and then you're looking for the pieces down low to put you over the top, and you realize that 28 WAS that guy. Don't trade 28. Super dumb move.

just the 2 things I posted last night

girgens, bailey for drouin

mcginn, franson, MORE, for Lindholm

I wouldn't be shocked if they go for Fowler instead as the price would be less

doubt he sends me another text today, as it will be crazy today

I miss it when Ruff was the coach, got all the filth then (dad's friend was on ruffs bowling team)

- homiedclown

I would do both those with the only hesitation being what the "MORE" may be. Appreciate the info!

I would never make that trade. Ever.
- Khmylev

rumor is gus does not play the system, goes his own way

darcy drafted him, not murray

if they view his ceiling as 3rd line center, the return is much greater for girgens than larsson

I don't understand the overvaluation of Girgensons other than he works hard every shift.

Like you and others have said "He is a 3rd line center"

- ImThatGuy

On a great team he is the perfect 3rd line center. He can move up and down the lineup. And since when is working hard a bad trait?

Most of what will get us out of the bottom 5 is already here. If we have Lehner from day 1 playing like this are we bottom 5? Eichel and the rest of the youngins get better, move on from the dead weight and you're looking at a team that at least hangs around the playoff spots.
- Sabresfan-365

Exactly. So I wouldn't be surprised if we stick with what we have going into next season and hope that the development, the full year of the goalie, and the year of Dan's system under their belt will take us from bottom 5 to near middle of the pack. Try to unload the guys who won't be here but wouldn't expect another core piece in a trade. If the price is right you go for it of course.

Yea, you have a good top 6, you know the thing that actually helps you win....

It's so easy to find bottom 6 players.

Maybe the system sucks. He did only win 1 cup with Crosby and Malkin in their primes. Why all the love for Disco Dan? Dude can't even manage to find line combinations. He's worse than Ruff in that way for cripes sakes.

A. Tampa wouldn't
B. Murray wouldn't. Doesn't want Drouin from what I've heard from him.
C. A 3rd liner for a 2nd liner is a win in my book so I would

Yea he is but i dont think girgs and more is reasonable for a kid with limited experience and the point production drop he'd experience not having Stamkos around. Everyone just kinda acts like this kid is the answers to all our prayers, I don't see it

Iit's not but "Blue collar" is so overrated in Buffalo it is not funny. if a guy works hard, we love him regardless of the stats he puts up.

Scoring and talent is what wins in this league.

I was never as sold as some on here about Girgensons. Good? Yea. Great? No. He is a good third line shut down center an those aren't hard to find. Hell, we have three of them on the team now in Girgensons, Larsson, an Legwand if you want to count him. What we have little to none of are top six potential scoring wingers which Drouin is. If Girgensens can get me Drouin, I sign that deal and happily drive Girgensens to the airport.

Where? No one here is overwhelmed by Dan. We're all a bit eh and hesitant. He has a cup, but also had superstars and was run out of town.

Drouin is an incredible player? Since when? If he's so good, why couldn't the lightning, who are playoff bound, find a way to keep him in the lineup? You're too in love with potential (dare I say hype). I know what 28 can do and i'm cool with it.

I think it's more of how Nolan was out of touch with today's NHL and just let the skaters do their thing

but that's just me

Lots of questions on Brodin. Took 2 steps back last 2 years.

Vlasic, Lindholm, Shattenkirk. Overpay if you need to, it's worth it.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic or not. Yes, it's usually the bottom 6 and goaltending that win cups. Teams that get there have awesome top 6 that usually equal out. role players always put teams over the top.
