Exactly.
Someone made a comment that he doesn't understand how he gets that much more than Bellemare. Well, get back to me when Bellemare scores 10 goals in a season, let alone 20 and when Bellemare is able to contribute on a legit scoring line. Heck, I like PEB, but he is what he is, a solid 4th liner who can kill penalties. Raffl is a legit 3rd liner who can move up when needed. Apples and oranges.

He can skate....has some size....solid, solid as a bottom six guy...fantastic value at that $.

Canes blogger reporting 2 2nd round picks, plus a prospect but not sure that it's confirmed. The Rags are so going to suck in a few years and I'm going to love every (frank)ing minute of it.

No rosters players? How are they fitting him under the cap? Canes better not be retaining salary.

did you really think stepan or zucc would be going the other way for a rental who is having a poor year in terms of point production?

If they retained as much as possible and didn't get a 1st their GM should pack his bags.

Pathetic. Old man Sather fleeced the Canes. Holy poop. They gave up a bag of pucks for Staal.

You would think so, however I'm just reporting what the Canes blogger wrote. I have no idea where he gets his info from.

They are, for a number of reasons: You can't let the asset walk for free, and you gave him a full NTC/NMC so he isn't going anywhere he doesn't want to go, and he makes a metric crap-ton of money, so only a few teams are going to absorb that and give up anything of value

That's about what I expected for Staal, tbh -- you can't let him walk for free, but he's telling you where he wants to go, and you can either take it or leave it, but the receiving team isn't gonna bend over for you

Eric Staal has 33 points in 63 games and has a massive cap hit and is a rental and has say in where he goes.

Remember when Jarome Iginla got traded? It's the same concept. There are only so many places where those guys are gonna go, and they never get as much anyone projects

The deals where teams get hauls are for players in their early-to-mid 20s, who are not eligible for UFA

Keep an eye on this. It comes from a few sources. Very cryptic I know, but cryptic from SOLID sources.

The NSA is less cryptic than this poop he's spewing.

He's really just given up I think. He's completely out of ideas.
