I think the real question is who Mathers is going to look up to when he makes the team next year.
By team, I mean the Reading Royals, of course. He's actually been able to make the lineup 27 times this year, which is a good trend for him after being an ECHL healthy scratch most of the season. - jmatchett383
Not sure what you're talking about here. |

If Gudas goes down and they deal another defenseman, I think Morin would be the first choice call-up if time permits. They'd probably call up Drewiske to be the #7 who travels with the team and plays if a short-term injury happens on game day. If it's not Gudas, they'd probably either let Drewiske play or call up Alt.
Just my take. - jmatchett383
For this Drouin trade that the Flyers are supposedly in on. Do we think it is safe to assume that Morin would be the prospect on his way out the door? He and Hagg were not drafted by Hextall. I guess that means Hagg could be as well |

Ill be bummed if we trade Morin. I want his game on the Flyers. We have nothing else like him and he could become an absolute beast. |

No, that's fine -- appreciate it. I just haven't been able to read much of late, so that was helpful. No real feel for who is doing what down on the farm - AllInForFlyers
No facts to back it up, but I don't think the Phantoms want any of Alt/Morin/Hagg being the #7. Drewiske seems like he's career AHL/tweener bound at this point, and not a prospect anymore. I don't think they'd want Morin in the lineup unless their lone big physical presence is gone.
Of course, if/when they're officially out, I could see Morin getting a call-up for some games. |

I'm talking about the Goulborune/Mathers matchup you dream about. |

Brayden Schenn isnt going anywhere. Same with RNH/Pietrangelo. Those types of deals just dont happen mid season.
Hextall will not burn the team down, but there is enough depth that he can afford to sell players for picks without hurting the team. Plus it doesnt look like the Phantoms will be making the playoffs right now, so there is extra depth there - YuenglingJagr
This was a huge year for Schenn and I think he's shown how valuable he is as a RW who can cover C and LW when injuries happen or lines are scrambled.
I'm pretty sure this isn't the last time Giroux will miss some games. |

I don't think the Flyers want to trade Morin. So far, he's had a nice progression from junior year by year, and has apparently taken nice strides in the AHL. I could see Hagg being shipped out, though. |

Agreed, especially in the second half. He'll likely never live up to his pre-draft hype, but definitely a nice top-6 option. |

I hope not. Hextall didn't draft him, but he always talks very highly about Morin. I would rather lose our first for Drouin if it was lottery protected. It should be around 12th overall. |

Would you do the first (assume it's 9-14), 3rd, Hagg, and Read? Do you think TB would? |

Based on what I've read and have heard, seems Hagg has regressed this season? I also saw mentions of him taking off to Swedan potentially. But if has regressed, not sure how teams view him as a piece to add to their prospect pool |

At the draft? I don't think they would want Read. They have too many forwards to sign. |

This. He has a proven track record of leadership and has been much more accomplished than these other guys. If we trade Streit, fine, but I want us to look for another vet in free agency or trade then. - orangekrush2010
Thats what I figured, but do you think Streit just came into the NHL as a leader or did he develop into one? |

Nope don't think Tampa touches that. They have no need for read and have plenty of guys they need to reup this summer. Haag seems more of a suspect than prospect at this point. |

In-season. But you're right, the 2 extra year at $3M+ would be tough. Only options I see are Raffl, Laughton, and Cousins. I don't think I'd do the first and either of Laughton or Cousins. |

MDZ can certainly develop into one or he may not. BUT, given our situation right now wanting to break our guys in to the lineup, I'd rather go with the sure thing. |
