I actually think that is a half decent deal for them.

And for Coburn, who clearly doesn't want to move his family anytime soon.

Clauses
Full NTC in 2016-17 and 2017-18. Full NTC also appended to final year of existing deal in 2015-16. Modified NTC in 2018-19.

Coburn is only 30, which I forgot.

The AAV seems a tad high, but not exorbitantly so. That was probably the tradeoff for a shorter term, I would imagine.

As long as Coburn can still move well, he'll be an effective player. I always thought he skated pretty well for a tall player.

And the development of the Swiss National League, bringing in better coaches, and sport's popularity growing in the country. Also, the fact that players in other European countries (i.e. Raffl, Sbisa types) that don't have strong programs choosing to represent Switzerland internationally has bolstered their roster.

But yes, Mark Streit was probably a leader when he entered the NHL in his late 20s.

Raffl plays for Austria.

If I'm going out in the city I prefer The Irish Pub or Moriarty's. There's a dive right by my house that I'm in way too often so I've become accustomed to that lifestyle. Not to mention I'm too cheap for covers. I've been to Fado and Howl at the Moon a few times, just not my cuppa joe.

Yeah, I'm just still at the point where I like the college/young professional scene. Especially when it comes to girls.

I just turned 26, probably look 22-23, date/hook up with college girls. Doesn't seem quite right to grow up just yet.

No, it's not that at all

It's that whenever I try to type "Medvedev," it's one of those words that is a hitch for me in typing. I don't spell it right, and it slows me down

Very good deal. Smaller cap hit for Coby because of Florida taxes?

National Mechanics is a lot of fun I think on Friday nights. It gets so goddamn packed though. I like crowds but also like being able to turn my body around without hitting someone.

Food for thought:

For all the talk about who to trade before TDL, I'd like to see us keep Streit for 3 reasons;
1. Since we can't eat any of his salary right now, whoever takes him takes on the full monty of his contract knowing next year's cap is stagnant, at best. So that diminishes his value.

2. While we can take on some salary at the draft, where a lot of trades are made, the sense of urgency probably won't be nearly as high then. So, once again, his trade value is lower.

3. Most importantly, next year, assuming Hextall brings up a rookie, regardless of who it is, who do you trust more to pair that person with?

Gudas - Not unless he proves he can play smarter on a consistent basis before the season ends.

Manning - not nearly as experienced or talented as Streit.

MDZ - will probably be paired with Ghost.

A MAC - please...

Schulz / Medvedev - doubt either one will be here then since they seem to have higher trade value than Streit.

SO unless there's a defenseman acquisition in the works we're all unaware of (which is quite possible, I know), I think Streit would be more valuable being here next year to pair with a rookie, than say, a fourth or even a third round pick. Any thoughts???
