So with the Oilers game being removed from NBCSN does that change the time or do I still have a 7:30 Tuesday game? Hate Tuesday games as it is but the earlier the better.

That's the thing, no idea where it was. Honestly it might have even been a facebook comment. All I know is it's the second time I heard it.

But a source that I can't even remember and knew at the time to be not even good and Garth aren't the best so I'm not saying it's true or anything.

I thought the story was the Murray told him he thought another year of college would be best for him and he gladly accepted knowing next year will be his time to shine.

I think it's a mix of a slump and (like every fan base) over valuing their players.
We all love players like him and Zemgus but looking at it from an outside perspective, neither appear to be game changers.
I've been a huge pysyk fan for a while but i think by draft time one or two of 3,22,28,82 will be gone

The thing about Gus is he is still very young, can move around center or wing and up and down lines, good on pk, strong on the puck, has good analytics, and is not going to command a truck full of $....he just can't score lately.

Agree on the others, though moving Pysyck could hurt big-time if the return is not awesome.

I dont think it would hurt big time. Pysyk is playing 5/6 bottom pairing minutes. Thats easily replaceable IMO

I didn't see the game last night, but Folign has taken a large step forward in the last 10-12 games. I'm not sure he will continue to play at this new level, so I'd be ok in trading him while his value is high. I'm disappointed with Larsons production, but his defensive game is good. I'd like to see him pot 15 goals though, so if you can get something...go for it.
Girgensons, love his play, but here we need to see production as well. I'd keep him for another year see what gives then.
Ennis, we have missed his production, selling him now would presumptively not result in what we would like to see in terms of value coming back. I think they need to hold him and get him to rediscover his game...maybe him and Girgs can resurrect their 2014-15 form together next year.
Legwand, get what you can for him.
D as a whole...we need to be careful here, else we turn into the Oilers except without all the high end talent on thee O side. This is a position we need to add to, not subtract from.

But he's still young, does not have a ton of NHL time under his belt, and has shown he can be very effective in this league. Throwing him in a trade package for a prospect would really hurt. He could grow into a very good top 4.

If Pysyk was moved would like to see it as a move to get say... Fowler? (you're welcome Garf) Pysyk+ennis, larson, foligno, etc.

McCabe has more upside than Pysyk IMO

If I was picking which one to keep I would take McCabe all day over Pysyk.

I wouldn't move Pysyk for a prospect and a pick either, but I would package him with say a guy like Foligno to get a young NHL roster player.

I still like Pysyk and gus...went overboard with 82 a few years back and have always liked 22 in a bottom-six role leaning more towards a fourth-line center...

for me, would definitely keep both Pysyk and gus unless the right trade came along...

for now

- Michael Pachla

Agree with all those points. Big 22 fan but at the end of the day he has to start scoring to stay 3rd line. I just think GMTM has one more shakeup move to set the lineup to his liking and one of those 4 would be on the move

That was what I heard on here as well. I took that as what it was and then heard that he was trying to become a FA instead. So I don't know. I have no source so I just hear things and wait to see what happens.

Knowing Murray and his asset management, if Fasching was going that route I feel like he'd trade him instead of letting him walk

Couldn't agree more.

They are at best complimentary players on good teams.

Seriously, nothing made me laugh harder than when Schopp said Pysyk was more important to this team than Sam Reinhart and Evander Kane.

IMO Pysyk could be a fine #4, but I would have no issue using him as a chip to get a top 2 defender or top 6 winger.

Without looking into the cap situation:

Trade Foligno and Pysyk for Fowler
Trade Ennis and Fasching for Drouin + cap hit (not Callahan)
Trade McGinn for a prospect and pick
Trade Johnson for best offer
Trade Franson for best offer

Draft top 3, sign Stamkos, sign a depth blue liner

Kane ROR Reinhart
Drouin Eichel Stamkos
Draft Pick Girgensons Bailey
Deslaueris Larsson Gionta
Moulson

Risto Fowler
Bogosian McCabe
Gorges FA signing
Cap hit from Tampa (Carle)

No kidding. I always get my Irish defensemen mixed up....

But really, we dealt McNABB and a couple picks, and the kid is pulling top pair minutes on a top team.

Pysyks ability did not just evaporate in the last month since coming back from injury....something is rotten in Denmark and if we trade Pysk in a package for, say, Eberle or another decent D comes back, I will not lose sleep. But if he's moved a la said Irishman and we get another Fasching back, I Will lose more sleep than sobriety is causing me to now.

I like how you dream, but I can't see most of this happening. I expect 2, maybe 3 more trades this year and none of them blockbusters. Same with the offseason. We sign 1 defenseman and that's it most likely. Main way we get better is by the players we have progressing/playing full seasons.

Game notes:
-Let Samson stay at center. He hasn't played well but like everything else i think he'll improve with each game.

-Everyone has been in love with Bailey. Imo he works his tail off which gets people to notice him but isn't that productive with all that effort. Not a shot at him just saying sometimes it's better to let the hands and mind work at the same level as the legs. Overall seems to have a solid shot to be a full time nhler fairly soon.

- yen6d1

Agreed. Everyone falls in love with a guy who works his tail off, but it won't last, he's just trying to make an impression. He reminds me of Foligno when he got his first call ups.
