this southern head cold is a b!tch

I am on day 7, still lingers

- homiedclown

We've been sick since November basically. Luckily we all sort of cleared up mid-December when we had our trip to Disney (so glad we weren't messed up), but the day we got back I got sick. Nothing like calling out of work the first day back from 2 weeks off...

Mario Williams willing to take less money to stay in Buffalo now.

He got the call from his agent....

"Mario i don't know how to put this, with you quitting on your team last year and your dismal stats, no one wants you for over 10 mil. I think your best bet is to stay in Buffalo"

30 mins later...

"I am willing to take less money to stay here with my "family" (his words)"

Back peddle much?

The common cold has a 7-10 day on average cycle. Seems you're at the back end of it at least.

I agree..... he should of just kept his mouth shut though and gave 100% throughout the season whether you agree with coaching decisions or not.

I try not to call in even if I'm not feeling well. With the WFH option, I tend to just keep my possible germs to myself and work remotely. Lucky for me, I have a ridiculous immune system so I really only get sick about once every 4-5 years.

His source is Michael Grosso from twitter

"Hearing that McGuinn is likely to re-sign with the Buffalo Sabres but a source also said that if a team is willing to offer up a 2nd round pick + other assets (prospects) for the veteran forward, Tim Murray will take it and run."

This year has been horrible...the youngest is on a 2nd round of antibiotics this month plus steroids, oldest is getting worse, wife is a mess - meanwhile school was cancelled today for possible tornados and such from these bad storms coming through and those 3 are all at home together. Glad work didn't close for me.

The pollen can be killer for me. Got me last year right before I went to Mexico. Getting on a plane with a sinus infection isn't all that fun. Thankfully I felt fine other than being stuffed up.

Here is a pretty interesting full copy of Grosso's blurb from a "30 team Rumour update last night"

BUF – Hearing that McGuinn is likely to re-sign with the Buffalo Sabres but a source also said that if a team is willing to offer up a 2nd round pick + other assets (prospects) for the veteran forward, Tim Murray will take it and run. They are also getting significant interest in Cody Franson and Josh Gorges, both are unlikely to be traded but the Sabres are also looking for draft picks in return for these two players. Per a source the Sabres are also close to dealing Mike Weber to an Eastern Conference team, hearing Caps or Pens.

Yeah, was just looking at that. Notice his "tease" (showing as 21h ago now)...it doesn't appear to include the Weber portion. Some nice "after the fact" stuff there.

Its in there from 18 hours ago (5:00pm EST?), though, and more interestingly -there's this, from the WSH section:

WSH – Hearing the Capitals are looking for a top-6 defensemen and have contacted both the Sabres and Canucks regarding Mike Weber and Dan Hamhuis. Nothing else is brewing but the Caps would like to add a defensemen sooner rather than later. Also hearing they would like to trade away Brooks Laich and a team like the Leafs would be interested if they got a high draft pick back along side Laich.

I went to the liquor store last night.

Looked at the El Dorado amber rum. Looked at the Reyka small batch vodka. Looked at the Apple Jack (my wife likes it).

Walked out empty handed. Just ain't feeling it.

I can also edit a post I made and make it look like I called the Weber trade last week and point to it - doesn't mean I called it at the time. His post is just on a blog, so easily editable. I just don't buy the Weber call from him is all

In other news, this exists as a real thing.

Been chasing a slew of rumors, but I was just told by a very reliable source that Ilya Kovalchuk may be leaving Russia and signing with an NHL team before Monday's traded deadline which would make him eligible for the post season...

The source contacted me just as news broke in Russia that Kovalchuk will NOT play Games 3 or 4 in his playoff series versus Lokomotiv fro SKA and has been stripped of his captaincy.

The two teams Kovalchuk would most likely be signing with are NJ and Toronto from all indications.
