What would a package of Legwand and Girgensons fetch?

http://www.sportingcharts...strength-goal-ratio/2015/

Even strength scoring ratio

1. Washington - Power play 1st
2. Rangers ---- Power play 23rd
3. Florida ---- Power play 27th
4. LA -------- Power play 4th
5. Dallas ---- Power play 6th
6. Chicago --- Power play 2nd
7. Tampa ---- Power play 22nd

Would you consider the Ranger, Lightning, and Tamps to be bottom 10 teams? Or is even strength scoring much more important ?

Coliacovo to FLA straight up for Dave Bolland.

We buy out Molson and Bolland both. (We can do that can;t we?)

You do that you have a ton of dead cap weight dragging you down. They're still paying Hodgson for the next 4 years.

sharks, playoffs
bruins, playoffs
kings, playoffs
stars, playoffs
blues, playoffs
devils, fighting for a playoff seed

top 8 pk teams
islanders, playoffs
blues, playoffs
ducks, playoffs
caps, playoffs
pens, playoffs
habs, no clue on that
bolts, playoffs
devils, fighting for playoff

ask every coach before playoff series, they always say special teams as on of the first 3 things

Where's the PK part? Maybe they're not great on PP but killer on PK? That certainly helps teams as well.

he's an rfa...methinks he'll have the opportunity to show what he's got this season...maybe after colaiacovo's moved?
- Michael Pachla

If we got a 3rd pick in 2017 for Weber, does that mean Colaiacovo will be a 7th rounder in 2020?

They are/were much better than he is. He doesn't kill you - that's the best thing you can say about him.
- Slump Buster

They are? All 3 have similar points this season, Legwand coming off of a 27 point season after being a 40+ point guy prior to that

About the only thing they're "much better" at is their age

Straight up is a bad call. You'd take a second rounder with it also.

So what would you want in return for Gus? It would have to be a top 6 winger or top 3 D. Otherwise I don't have an interest in moving him.

Awesome, thanks much.

So what inside info have we had over the last few days? I know that sbroads reported last night that the organization believes Stamkos wants to come here.

- Slump Buster

39 mentioned 5 players they're talking about getting rid of (didn't include Weber)

Larsson
Foligno
Legwand

Can't remember the others, but I think his latest update was 5

Flynn was still an RFA at the end of the year last year, so you get a bit more of a return because the guy isn't quite just a "rental."

That said, we traded both to Montreal and they're both still there this year with Montreal absolutely floundering since pretty much November.

imo, I don't care how much money an owner has, it may be to the point where he's tired of buying players out

Even strength scoring over a large sample size is way more important than special teams. That's why the Sabres are at the bottom despite good special teams numbers

Penalties are rarely called anymore and as Cabin said, most of the game is at even strength

Younger and faster. Sure, none of them are setting the world on fire (and that's part of my point). I don't care what Legwand did years ago. We'd have been better served playing Schaller in that spot.

Not only that, but why would we do another team a favor at this point? They don't like a contract they gave out? Too freaking bad. We're not a charity case over here.

Thanks for that. Unless we got a decent return for Foligno I'd still be inclined to keep him. He seems to be in the mold of what TM wants to build.

Nothing yet at all…the only thing he said was quite a while ago that we had made contact with them in regards to letting them knw we want him and what not…remember we almost made a trade for him at the draft but they wanted the #2 pick to get Eichel for him…we said no cuz there was too much more too. But murray is good friends with Stamkos’ agent and stamkos’ agent is the agent for like 5 other guys on our team like McGinn, O’Reilly and a few others….so that internal connection is kinda there

I think it's more the case of we help them and they pay us for it. Like taking half of Weber's salary you're basically paying cash for a better return

sabres are 10th in the nhl for pp
9th in nhl for pk

it's amazing with those numbers they are not even sniffing a top 8 seed in the east

- homiedclown

Well. you are set at C. Have your stud dman in Risto and a I'm a fan of Mccabe too. Pieces are there to build around. VAN needs a dman like that badly.

That is a weird stat btw. But ya, I guess it's the 5 on 5 play. Well your reward for looking pretty good this year will be another top pick. Personally I would love one of the Finnish Ws for the Nucks. Look goof in Buff too.
