How messed up is the NHL taking the Oil/Sabres game off NBC prime time in favor of Pens/Caps.

The ONLY time Edmonton is on NBC for the year, and the only time Eich meets McDavid, and they drop it for a matchup that plays in the East all the time. This is not the way to grow the sport! You gotta show the young stars on the East coast.

if I had to make the call, from a national perspective, I'd switch it

ratings will triple with crosby/ovi over 2 small market teams fighting for a lottery pick

I'd agree with you if Edmonton had been on the National schedule more than once this season. But they weren't. This was the only game they had on the US National schedule all season.

I honestly think more people would watch Jack vs Connor. Hockey fans have seen ovi and crosby every year multiple times. Newcomers to the sport are excited by the young talent. And the next Ovi/Crosby. NHL (frank)ed up. As usual.

I watch other teams make tape to tape passes and move up the ice as a unit. I watch us slap the puck up ice and try to beat the other team to the loose change. Then they turn around and bring it the other way, and we break up their advance and slap it up ice again.

Chip and change, dump and chase. Eichel dangles from our end to the other on his own. Kane caries up the left side, banks around the defender, has his shot, and so on and so on.

I've been saying much the same thing since late December.
The Sabres O-zone entries completely suck. If they don't dump and chase, then they come in flat with zero passing lanes available and no trailing support.
Bylsma has a Bantam offensive scheme...he needs an offensive Coach to take the reins from him...that is on Bylsma to fix.
Of course, a bit more talent would be nice as well...that is on GMTM to fix.
