Got to watch it in high school. Love the movie.

It would be a science fiction movie today. Rational arguments actually changing someone's view? Crazy talk.

I don't disagree at all with the bold.

At the same time, it's really not that science fictiony. There's prejudice heavily on display, be it socio-economic, racial, or ethnic based. And the story is really dealing with a guilty-until-proven innocent mass mentality phenomenon. Those are things that definitely still permeate our world today. It's actually eerily reflective of our modern society for a 60-year-old movie.

I just meant it's sci-fi based on the fact that that would never happen today. Maybe fantasy is a better genre? Like you said it's the guilty until proven innocent. Look at "Making of a Murderer" whether you believe they're innocent or guilty you have to admit there are massive flaws in the prosecutions case, and that neither one got a fair trial. And it's known(a juror came out and said) that when the jury started deliberation on Avery's case it was actually 7 not-guilty, 3 guilty, and 2 on the fence. Maybe it was 6, 4, and 2 respectively, it was definitely more for not-guilty by more than one vote and there were 2 undecided. But the juror said that they were bullied into the guilty verdict.

The movie, "12 Angry Men" that is, really makes you think, how many people are in jail, just because a few people got bullied into making a guilty verdict?

Just look at this board. We all have the same evidence, the moves made, and the play on the ice, but there are 3 or 4 camps with some radically different views.

Twin Peaks is my favorite drama show
Love Muhollond Drive and Blue Velvet. Lost Highway was pretty good. Couldn't finish Eraserhead. Want to watch Wild at Heart and Inland Empire

Around this time next year the 3rd season should be premiering....I will be glued to my tv with coffee and pie in hand and a smile a mile wide. The cast is unreal and Lynch is directing every episode.

With Eraserhead, I had to watch it in 20 minute-long sections the first time just to get through it, just cuz it is so disturbing. But I've seen it 2 dozen times now and it always makes me laugh. Absurd does not even come close to describing that film.

Great post, and the last paragraph is so true. Some here really, really want others to accept their views as facts but get totally bent out of shape and/or try to bully others into submission if there is disagreement. I don't know how I'd be on a real jury...on HB I can either walk away from the keyboard, post a funny image, make fart jokes or just find something else to do if there's a disagreement.

btw, farts are ALWAYS funny.

So I made the decision to not stay up and watch the game.

Seems like I made the right choice.

Anything exciting happen?

I would not be turned off of Drouin because it has not baseball keen reported Sabres are interested.

Did we hear much about snores and Kane, before the deal? (Past speculation)

I'm sure TM scouted Drouin before draft and can't imagine he would not be interested.

If we get him, I think Girgensons and our 2016 second rounder is the deal

- Lilroot9

On the Kane front.

The previous deadline Murray made a comment about a young wing.......er.....player that had fallen out of favor with management. It's something we'll revisit it in the future. The writing was on the wall for the better part of a year that they were interested in Evander Kane.

Lenner was great.

Ducks scored on PP on a shot that found its way through four guys passed Lenner.

Sabres had a 3-1 rush late in the second, Kane carried the puck across the blue line, looked at the other 2 guys, and fired a 30 foot wrister. Bailey tried, but failed, to cash the rebound.

Tight checking game without a lot of flow.

I notice that a lot when i watch us play... I watched the Rags and the Pens play the other week and it had just this nice easy to follow flow to it... I watch us play and I'm left completely confused by not only how we have zero flow to our game but how it seems to completely ruin any flow the opposing team may have and I'm left standing there like Cal Naughton Jr with a confused look on my face.

I watch other teams make tape to tape passes and move up the ice as a unit. I watch us slap the puck up ice and try to beat the other team to the loose change. Then they turn around and bring it the other way, and we break up their advance and slap it up ice again.

Chip and change, dump and chase. Eichel dangles from our end to the other on his own. Kane caries up the left side, banks around the defender, has his shot, and so on and so on.

He had that in the PITT game too with Eichel as the trailer and shot it right into the goalie. He held it for whistle and then there was a commercial break but i rewinded it to watch again and after the save Eichel just had his head up to the rafters.

It seems like that happens a lot with Kane. Is he not seeing the ice well where he recognizes he can make the pass?
