Yep, those small forwards like Kane and Panarin can really kill your chances.

My point is that we already have Ehlers, Perreault, and Petan

Hey Cuz, u know I don't hype any of my guys or my prospects. My only untouchable D-spec is Pulock and no one is saying he's the next Bourgue bc he hasn't stepped onto NHL ice yet to see... []

Sorry, mis-remembered... you were comparing Pulock to Potvin not Bourque. My bad.

I think they would take Trouba in a heart beat. I'd be really surprised if this happened:

Ladd to Anaheim for Fowler

Trouba to Tampa for Drouin

Hamonic sits at home trying to call Garth Snow.. "Garth.. Garth, can you do something please???"

- Peter.Tessier

Hamonic is well aware of the situation he put the Islanders in and, while they're trying to accommodate him, they are under no pressure to trade him now or in the summer.

Isles beat writer confirmed this doing a Q&A on Twitter yesterday:

He also mentioned that he believes EDM is the most likely destination for him and that WPG doesn't seem like a fit, which I would tend to agree with.

And my counterpoint is the Hawks have/had Shaw, Krueger, TT, Desi, Versteeg, Sharp, Madden, Bolland et al and won cups.

Playing big is more important than being big. I'll take a team of smurfs if they win individual battles and maintain possession.

am i the only one thinking Ladd should now sit out untill traded?

no way am i trading Trouba straight up for Drouin. If Seth Jones got Ryan Johansen, I'm not taking just Drouin.

With Ladd not being traded yet, I wonder if they are talking to Tampa and Islanders on bigger deals that include guys like Drouin and Hamonic, but again not trading Trouba striaght up for Drouin.

The jets have to trade Ladd and wait on trouba untill we see what we get for Ladd and where we end up drafting.

I guess they have 2.3 million based on LTIR but is that enough? Who would they want to give up that Jets would be interested in?
- Peter.Tessier

what will Ladd's cap hit be right now for a team? 2 million? less? I' know the Jets are not fans of eating salary but if it sweetened the deal why not, it would be a very minimal short term hit

If they plan to play Ladd tonight they might as well sign him lol, you cannot risk injury to the 1st or 2nd most coveted rental and end up empty handed.

Jets will eat salary its only a couple of months, not an issue I'm sure.

Drouin, 1st and 2017 2nd for Trouba I would think about but prefer waiting until the draft lottery to be decided.

Just a thought to all of the skeptics of the Jets or worse think they are heading for lean years.....

Remember that Chicago made the playoffs once from 1997-2007 and then all of sudden drafted 3rd overall (Toews) and 1st overall (Kane)

Also, the LA Kings did not make the playoffs 2002-2009 but did draft Kopitar in 2005, Quick in Rd 3 2005, 2007 they land King and Martinex in the 4th rd, Doughty 2nd overall in 2008 and Tofoli round 2 in 2010

These teams have won 5 of the last 6 cups....Kopitar 7 years after being drafted.

So yeah, I am ok with draft and develop, sign a free agent when it makes sense and trade when it helps (LA has traded W. Simmonds, B.Boyle, B.Schenn, draft picks, etc)...

Stay on plan Chevy!

What about Drouin, Deangelo, and a first for Ladd, Trouba and Petan?

Not a fan of Deangelo in TB or Grimaldi in FLA who names are out there.

My guess is Chevy stays stubborn and gets the value again like last years' trade

Which phase of the substance abuse program is Gaborik in? Are you sure?

It's the conjoined meth and rape group him and Kane started.

What about:

To DAL: Ladd, 2016 2nd round pick, 2017 conditional 3rd round pick (If Ladd does not re-sign)

I would be all over these deals if they were to happen! But I do agree with jjonah, that I would want more for Trouba.

Unlike "Ur Not Me", I will not be asking for Crosby and McDavid for him, like he thinks Hamonic is worth.

I think Neshushkin is KHL bound if the switch doesn't go off soon.

I think Hamonic is totally pragmatic in the reality of the situation. So is Garth. I was just trying to have a bit of fun.

I think there is a Russian bias there. The guy did amazing his rookie season and was injured for the majority of his second.

I think I would take a gamble on him.

No way that Trouba goes for a problem child like Drouin. His problems go way back to World juniours.......bad attitude.

Here's a crazy combo....Ladd for Drouin but we also have to take Carle (huge cap relief for 4 years) and we include a B-level prospect like Kosmachuk, Lipon, DeLeo, Ect.) They use that cash to keep Stamkos happy.

And then there is Anaheim. Lots of cap space a player signed for term with a salary almost identical to Ladd's and plays defines, oh and shoots left. Cam Fowler is who many have suggested would be the return. The problem with Cam Fowler is his advanced numbers are in a downward trend. In that he is looking more like Stuart than he is Trouba. Yes the Jets have depth problems on the left side but it's going to get awfully crowded on the D-line when Stuart comes back. It might make some sense but not enough IMO, unless the Jets know what has caused Fowler to regress and how to fix it, but that seems unlikely to me.
