He's been up and down I think a few times this year, but has spent a good portion of the season in the AHL.

In general, over their careers it's pretty close. However, the one area McGinn seems to be an upgrade is on the power play. Though it could just be that Bickell never really gets any in Chicago overall and McGinn has gotten quite a bit more.

I'm not against the trade... only issue MIGHT be that hes a 4 mil hit on the books next year when we MIGHT? attempt a swing at that guy from Tampa Bay, I'm avoiding using names and using caps so its understood I'm not saying we will or should but its been put out as a possibility

I wouldn't say he's a fringe NHL player, I just don't think anyone wanted him at that much of a cap hit. He's very expensive for what you're really going to get out of him. He's probably best suited for a 4th line role, with the ability to fill in on the 3rd to cover for injuries.

Ullmark named AHL player of the week. He had a .969 sv percentage in 2 wins, including 43 saves against Portland and 51(league high for the season) against Syracuse. Good to see.

McGinn is worth a 2nd/3rd rounder at most, IMO.

Adding Bickell to the deal ups the value as Chicago needs to clear cap space.

Adding a 4th rounder adds more value.

McGinn for a 1st
4th for Bickell and a B level Prospect


Add - You can offset Bickell by moving Franson and Weber.

I also dont think there is a realistic chance of signing anyone certain from TBL.

McGinn is worth a 2nd/3rd rounder at most, IMO.

I think this UFA class is going to be the best we have seen in quite some time, mainly because teams just cant afford everyone.


I know we say this every year. This year seems different.


Of course teams could also trade the rights of a player for a 4th.
