Yeah...
They're stacked
I wonder who they will try & move?

- jdfitz77

With that many talented guys, they will not "try to move" anyone, rather, they'll respond to the most attractive offers. They're deep enough at the position that they could let just about anyone go - for the right price - and still ice a strong blue line.

But they also have an internal cap and want to add up front. Makes me think that Vatanen is the most likely to move as well. I don't know that they'll get full value for Lindholm considering how good hes been for them.

Nope.
Not if we're smart.
I know we are all in a hurry to get good again, but it's generally better to bring these guys along slowly. Look at how Detroit does it. Even a guy like Nyquist, who has had success in the NHL already, is still on their 3rd line, while guy like Abdelkader & Helm play in the top6 against tougher competition.

We've already got a lot of really young talent up here.
We need some Vets here too.
Giving guys like Guhle & Bailey more time to develop will only help them in the long run.
No need to rush these guys

I've said this many times but I hate the transfer rule with the CHL. That being said I feel like a just comprise could be made in which a player turning 20 in the calendar year of the new hockey season can play in the AHL that year not just if they turn 20 before the season starts. Guhle is being punished because his birthday is in July kind of sucks for him and costs us a very beneficial year in the AHL.

sami vatanen would be a good addition. Maybe one
Of McGinn or Ennis can pry him from Anaheim. Then we maybe move Bogo in a deal ? Have Risto, Pysyk, Vatanen you're set for RHD

We could send him over to Europe to play...
I'm kinda surprised teams haven't done that yet

This is the problem. We are so limited on what we can offer.

It's Ennis....and a couple mediocre prospects or picks.

Hopefully we can add a few decent picks and use those as ammo

Can you do that? Isn't his rights tied to WHL or NHL until he's 20?

Damn!
I thought it was crazy that the Leafs got two 2nds for a 3rd pair guy & a 4th liner, but I just assumed the Sharks lost their damn mind

If the price for Gudas is more than two 2nds...
Then Georges should be getting us a 1st +

It's crazy that teams are gonna overpay like this

Nope
It's an agreement between the NHL & CHL that guys under 20 can't go to the AHL
As far as I know, European leagues have no part in this agreement whatsoever

Like I said earlier...
Bc of the way this season have gone, Ennis & Girgensons have lost a lot of their trade value

I think Fasching is our best piece of trade bait right now

Right but as far as I knew this has never happened so there obviously is a reason for it.

In any event Vatanen shouldn't be the target. Even if you believe he's top pairing material another offensive righty isn't really what we need.

I'd honestly prefer them to overpay out the ass for someone i don't have to worry about.

Ennis is still known as a top 6 forward with a 20 goal touch. Not unlike Evander Kane was when we traded for him. Now Ennis doesn't come with as much clout as Kane but he still has history of consistently producing in this league. I think he needs to play at least ten games this year and if he does and gets let's say eight points in ten games his trade value goes right back up again should Murray decide he wants to put him on the block.
As for Girgensons I'm open to trading him but don't think he's lost as much value as you think. He's still a higher first round pick from three years ago and has great size, work ethic and two way game. His scoring production is cause for a concern but I bet there are still GM's out there who look at his potential which he still very much has and thinks "Maybe I can bring that out of him on a better team then what he's on now" I think he still fetches a pretty decent return.

Idk...
The logistics of it can be an issue
Where does the player live?
Who keeps an eye on your young prospect who suddenly is being paid the most $$$ they've ever seen & playing in places they can't even pronounce...
Plus the language, culture, etc

Also, it would be very untraditional & would take an organization that really thought outside the box to do it

Of course they still have some decent value
But to think they haven't lost any value is silly

If there is one thing I love about Murray, is that he did not call up Matt Ellis once this season

I really think Sami Vatanen ends up being the one moved in Anaheim.

They are too loaded on defense.

Lindholm
Vatanen
Manson
Despres
Bieksa
Fowler
Montour
Stoner
Theodore

That's 9 potential NHL d men next year

- sbroads24

5 of them would fit in well here
2 or 3 would make impact right away

Nearly everyone on the board rags on Gorges, saying how horrible he is, abd that he is a 3rd pairing dwfender. Idk how his value would be much higher than Gudas, if at all.

I believe we gave up two 2nds for Gorges.
