Murray's biggest mistake so far was Chris Stewart. He should have took Spooner and a 2nd for him and Flynn.
- Mentalorgasm5

He totally should have taken that deal. I don't know what he was thinking he could get for Stewart, but man, he just had to accept anything in the end. I hope he doesn't do that crap again at this deadline. You would think they would have a spreadsheet set up telling them what each buyer is looking for, and than you can just cross teams off after they've picked up their acquisitions. As of now, S.J. may already be done. A market is now set, so make the calls and be done moving your guys before deadline day even hits.

I know it's way late but the skinner thing seems to be based on the regular appearance by sabres scouts at canes games but Im still betting it's for one of the d-men. That's where they're deepest at (Faulk, Hanifin, Wisniewski, slavin, pesce and mckewon in the system).

I suggested Haydn Fluery a few weeks ago. Not really sure what we would have to give up.

I would assume with how management is running that team they would be looking for a player with great underlying numbers. Girgensons is the only one that comes to mind, but I don't even know if they are going to sell or buy

I'd bet he's AHL bound.

It's bad luck because we lost the lottery two years in a row after finishing dead last both times and no matter how good Reinhart and Eichel are they aren't Ekblad and McDavid. The number 1 is usually always very good. I'm saying it would be very bad luck to not pick in the top 4 there's a drop off after that.
- bluengold12

No, it's not. We had a 25 and 20 percent chance of winning. Those are awful odds.

Would like Fleury but they've been scouting the NHL team for a while. I think Slavin/Pesce might be the target to ensure roster spots/cap space for mckewon/fleury.

No way. He will in the next few years, but not next year. We will be serious about the playoffs next season, AHL (as previously stated) will be his best bet and will work through the ranks, if he proves it.

just throwin' it out there: what would it take to get JVR?

hides

Has a no trade clause but if I had to guess... I'd say a 2nd and either Baptiste or Cornel plus us taking on his full salary

IMO that 2nd round was Murrays worst "move" so far. I get the moulson signing and missed opportunity with Stewart were bad but he had three 2nd rounders to play with and a chance to really set us up for the rebuild. He couldn't move up or pull off a trade and to be honest none of the 2nd rounders he picked have really impressed

For JVR he's really good and at a good cap hit. It'll cost way more than that (though I'd pay up for him)

Edmonton and Florida had worse odds. We had the best out of anyone. You're completely missing the point..

I enjoyed it. Looks like it could be a very deep game. Didn't go into the DZ though. Was going to yesterday, but didn't end up having time, and it didn't get extended like a lot of people were speculating about. My birthday is coming up, so I'm thinking about that and X-Com 2 which looks pretty awesome and got great reviews. And also the FO4 DLC, so many games! Apparently my worst fears about Far Cry have been realized. Saw some reviews on You Tube today and it seems to be a bad game. They took a chance and whiffed. It's ok, because Ubisoft is a massive company and can withstand a dud. They have Rainbow Six, The Division, and later this year probably Ghost Recon, and next year Watchdogs 2.
- Wetbandit1

The DZ was a blast. I haven't seen so much vocal interaction between players on an Xbox one game. It's looking like it's going to be everything people hoped destiny would be. I'll be skipping far cry as well. I'm going the next cod will be good since the modern warfare crew is back.

Out of those two the only one I'd want is Slavin. Left shot D decent numbers. He'd probably cost a 3rd and Foligno I'd bet.

So anyone who doesn't win the lottery that is stacked against everyone has bad luck and as a result we will fall from 3rd or 4th to 6th even though that requires 0 or only 1 of the bottom 3 teams winning any of the three lottery spots?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Guhle has to play in Juniors one more year because he doesn't turn twenty until July.

Sure but if they are wanting to get rid of huge contracts maybe they'd take it. I guess I could see more realistic offer of two 2nds plus Bailey and maybe Borgen. But that's a pretty steep price.

A good fantasy sleeper on that team is Phil Di' Guiseppe.

I was thinking 1st, prospect and roster player. If they made him available they'd probably get that from several teams

No you're missing the point in that Buffalo has bad luck as a city. That was my original point. It was backed up in the fact that a team that had two of the best players of all time on their team for a decade has been granted the 1st overall pick four times in the last what five, six years? My point is that Buffalo has bad luck and them not ending up in the top three of the draft lotto would showcase that bad luck even more.

We don't have a first to give. So I was looking at it from Buffalo's perspective. We're not giving up our first so two seconds which in Toronto's eyes could basically be like two low 1st's plus a higher prospect and maybe a roster player like a Foligno or Larsson would be a good deal.

That's more indicative of Edmonton having great luck rather than buffalo having bad otherwise u could say that about every other team that missed out.

Yea it's kinda steep but if you think it's a good fit with eichel it's hard to say no.
