at least he didn't take a stupid major penalty and cost his team again
- flyer186

Well he was directly at fault for at least 2 goals last night. He missed a hit or didn't get enough of Kadri on the second goal and he pretty much chose not to take the man on the third goal, where he slid out of the way. I feel he serves a purpose on the team but he's been bad the last month in play. He's been dirty, which is unacceptable. He's been taken off the top pair

He's been awful. Seriously how much worse can morin or provorov be even right Norc. Not saying that they should be here, just that it won't take much at all for the prospects to replace what we have here.

I would love to see Morin get a game in.

Is Ghost really keeping #53? He'd have gotten rid of it by now right?

Does Ghost have a Calder winning bonus in the contract? All rookie team? Would it not matter for next year if the Flyers have space this year to absorb it?

- eayost

No, they league may not be respective of an in season change, he may have to wait until the end of the season

Hot take: I thought Gudas played a solid game until he got deked out of his jock strap by Kadri. He was effective but disciplined.

yes he was.

Schenn is playing his way into a nice contract. Do you give him the same deal as Couturier?

- furio16

No, because he bores me to tears.

If the Flyers won all 98 games1-0, I'd gladly cheer their boring selves.

I dont care if he's boring, i care about his skill.

So, when can we dump this Gostisbehere chump? Just another Flyers defender with bad "posession" (shot differential ) numbers. Never mind that the puck ends up in the other team's net more than his team's when he's on the ice. Maybe we can get a 3rd or 4th for him.

I would. Schenn strikes as the better offensive player, while Couturier has the more balanced game.

Ghost is an absolute revelation. Wow. Been interesting to see how cousins is emerging as well. If def plan for him to be on the big club next year one the bottom 6. Seems solid and contributing points.
- Hextall271

according to crack beat writer carchidi, in his review of the carter trade, cousins will never be the player remembered in the deal. because he's, you know, 15 games into his nhl career. clearly the story on him is written and sealed.

I am a little bit wary of reaching any conclusions about the Flyers against last night's version of the TMLs. The third line being legit or BSchenn being good at center. I'm glad they had a good game but that D they went up against is as bad as our D.

I think we can say Gostisbehere is pretty good though.

Funny enough...he doesn't actually. And he's a rookie. Possession stats tend to rise as a player solidifies their game all around. I'm sure his will too. He has all the makings of a terrific possession player with his great stick and gap control through the neutral zone, and ability to exit and enter the end zones cleanly by skating or passing.

Feanor has been telling me his advanced stats are bad. Shot differential under 1.

He actually has a positive differential, even accounting for zone starts. And he's possession positive relative to his teammates. He's not great, but for a rookie d man, he's holding his own and showing promise in that regard in the years to come. He has the tools and mind to be a good possession player. It is incredibly rare for a rookie to come in and just be a dominant possession player, especially a d man, because it's really an all around 3 zone stat, which provided the player has the ability, tends to rise as they learn more.

But even in a player's infant career, there can be signs indicating one way or another. How Ghost plays and thinks (and his NZ; zone exit and enter stats) make me believe he will be a terrific poss. player in time, even if he's just ok-good now. Honestly I don't care what his "Corgi" is right now. He's doing fine and learning.

Edit: and I doubt Feanor said anything like that

He actually did. I said he was hands-down their top all-around player on both sides of the puck and he disagreed, citing his "poor" possession numbers.

I do believe your post was directed towards me originally when you did say Ghost was hands-down our top all around defenseman. I do remember you saying this.

Nichuskin is a RW. We have enough of those.

Sanhiem for Drouin is a move I would strongly consider. The take a D man with our 1st.

Not sure what all the hype is about Drouin... He hasn't played in the NHL yet, has been a hold out/malcontent, even refused to play in the AHL, (looks like he did report according to the Syracuse Crunch web page: 7 games played, 3 points and -1). So other than being a high draft pick, what's his claim to fame?
