Maybe Moulson puts himself to use and convinces okposo to sign with the sabres? Almost makes up for the contract right?

Yes it would.

Yeah agreed . I hope that goal was a start of something.... errr... ummm..... Well something. The way I saw a few shifts from him a couple games back , you would have thought it was me skating out there. Better to have the player than search for another. (you may never find it)

Who knows maybe Moulson will get it going. It will be interesting what they do with him. You just can't pay $5M for that production.

I worry about Eichel losing focus if the guy he is living with gets traded or bought out.

And some complain about giving Mcginn 4.5 . Every team has some problem contract players . To piss and moan everyday about it is tiring. If it was that easy to make a perfect team, don't they think everyone would be doing it ? Or at least contacting them for their advise ?

After the Clarkson debacle there has been a 10 fold increase in the number of fancy stats personnel being hired, no doubt to avoid those debacles. So in short the answer to bold is yes, yes they are.

If Stamkos goes to free agency it will be a fun summer.
- mhp

Yeah, I remember Kovalchuk. I was on vacation with only the "EDGE" network on my iPhone 3GS as the only internet connection. It took 3 minutes for the home page here to load so I could see what was going on. Did that 3 times a day. I have to think that Stamkos will be the same hype-wise.

I think the best was Brad Richards. Teams flying all the way to the agency to make pitches with camera crews literally everywhere watching this unfold. Rumours flew around like crazy. Richards held this ridiculous circus for days and all he did was take the highest offer and told the Rangers to match it

When ROR scores 30 goals in a season, no check has multiple 30 goals seasons, then he can vehemently express not wanting to play wing. Stamkos, a proven multiple 30+, 50+ scorer, I can understand.

That fact is, if ROR had to play wing with Stamkos at center and say, Reinhart (or maybe even another top 5 pick) on the opposite wing with a D-man like Risto on the point, I can think of a lot worse situations to be in. He'd put up multiple 30 goals playing wing in that instance

- bberkey1

It's just not that easy to say that they'll play together. Remember the smashing success that was the Eichel Kane line? Oh wait... It's not NHL16 you can't just put guys wherever and with whomever and expect results. Bylsma has been juggling lines the whole year for the most part to see where guys fit. He doesn't do it just for fun to piss off the fans. I'm not saying Stamkos and ROR wouldn't work, but you can't just say it as if it's fait accompli. In hindsight we should've known Eichel and Kane wouldn't go well together because they both like to carry the puck. Kane isn't a third line player, but right now that's where his best fit is because the skill sets of the other guys on his line compliment his own.

I can't even imagine what it would be like for stamkos, especially with Toronto having a hard on for him. I hope stamkos waits to sign until after 7/1, even if it's back with tampa, that'd be entertaining.

Sirius NHL had the Avs writer on there and he said a few interesting things...

Said Mack will be a 7-7.5M guy next year.

Said they had a deal for Seth Jones fall thru before CLB swooped in.

Said Grigo and Duchene play great together and that Grigo will be a top flight 2C in this league in his career

- JVince11

He certainly has the skills and I hope he does. He got a bit of a raw deal here. I don't even think it was intentional on behalf of Darcy. The kid was plainly too good for Quebec, but not quite ready for the NHL, so he was stuck in the middle. The NHL needs an "exceptional player status" for guys who aren't ready for the NHL, but who are way too good for Junior. When he was finally able to go to the AHL he played extremely well 36P in 43 games. He just needs more seasoning than some players, that's all.

Ek has been saying that about MacKinnon for a while too. I think he even said $8 million. He'll get paid, that's for sure. Part of the reason ROR was traded. They couldn't justify that amount of money on 4 guys. ROR, Duchene, Landeskog, MacKinnon. Not to mention it gave them the room to sign EJ to an extension as well.

Darcy REGIER screwed mikhail Grigorenko. ( darcy screwed us for 16 yrs) how goo is Darcy's core doing. We wasted three years of him. He never played with top line players and never payed16 min a game. We did not rape the Avalanche as much as everyone thinks we did. Zadorov if he gets his head straight,he will be a dominant defenseman down the road

Did we hurt his development? Certainly. But I never saw evidence of the raw skill that people say he has. Hell, everyone in this league makes a nice play once in a while.

I really think he resigns in Tampa, I just hope he waits until like July 5th, so we can have a circus.

No way he re-signs in Tampa. They are miles apart. Tampa doesn't think he is worth what he is asking.

(shrug) so what? As I said, everyone makes a nice play once in a while. I am not saying he has no skill. I am saying that if I didn't know he was a top 15 pick I would never, ever have guessed it.

No way - he is gonzo. They'd have signed him by now if he was going to stay. He wants 11 - 12 a year and they offered 8.5.

He's made a bunch of really nice plays. He's a 6'3 playmaking center. If he wasn't a top 15 pick I would wonder why
