We were also the highest TV market in the playoffs 2 years ago, and obviously the sabres were not even playing. We have more season tickets sales than most teams have in the arena for any game through out the season. The TV market thing we are number 1 and it isnt even close this year. 2nd is PITT and you could add them, the devils the islanders the ducks all together and still would not get our rating

As has been mentioned when trying to calm people down, 10% of 1 million (just random figures/estimates) can't compare to say 7% of a 3 million person market.

Buffalo has higher ratings (percentage of people watching the games) but a lower population base than pretty much all markets.

It can't compare? That is why the ratings are done the way they are, becuase population sizes are different. So yes it is impressive that 10% of everyone who lives in the western new york market was watching the LAK-NYR cup finals while on 7% of people in NY were.... Thats like saying Flint, MI isn't as bad as they say becuase the population is smaller than the big cities.

I'm sad about it. He's finally coming into his own. We need that. Depends of course on what we get. But picks and prospects take forever to develop.
