Sam Reinhart doesn't even have 30 points playing top line minutes, all while shooting 2x what a normal shooting % is.

Buffalo fans call him Bergeron

Grigorenko is just starting to play well, he's KHL bound.

They are like a year and a half apart

Fans i buffalo think all our players are great. How could anyone ever tell if grigorenko was ever any good. He averaged 6 min a game on the 4 th line, what a joke

I like you boys and the Sabres, but that was one thing Sakic and Roy were very open about at the start of the year with Zads and grigo. All world talent but didn't think they were developed correctly so are going to take the time to bring them along in Patricks mold.

So AHL, and 4th line minutes to start were expected, its a patience and futures trade.

Seriously? Do you watch the games? Not one person lamented Grigs being in the trade. He might be serviceable, so what? Absolutely nothing special about him. Reinhart has a real chance at being elite.

A hater? No. You proved my point - he isn't a 1c or 2con a good team. Can he play in the league? Sure, why not. His ceiling is 'serviceable'. Nobody blinked when he was traded. I hope he pans out but I don't see it.
- Slump Buster

I said he is serviceable right now and continuing to improve. and i dont even think he is playing C. I would like to have a guy like him with that kind of talent to put on a wing with eichel. Wouldnt you?

Nobody blinked because he never even got a real shot here, was still 20 years old and because of what we got in return. If it was grigo in 3 years scoring 55 a year being a PP monster like i think he could be, different story.

The worst buzz world in all of sports, everyone is elite if they are an above average talent. same as generational talent, who cares what players are defined as while they are playing.

Let the play and then after their careers are done, then you can have those conversations.

Based on what exactly? Shooting 15% for his career? He's going to be pretty good. No where near elite

Questionable effort and mediocre skater. With eichel? You're dreaming. The league is littered wit those guys. He is a very poor man's Semin. There is a reason the avs asked for other guys and took him as a throw in.

No, i've been here for years and haven't seen a single game. And I wouldn't need to because i wasn't just referring to specifically grigorenko. Every fan base does this when they move on from a player. The classic " we didn't want him anyways".

In grigos case ruff seen it for what it was, the kid wasnt ready. Ruffs job was to win hockey games and at that time grigo wasnt going to help accomplish that. He should have been sent back to jrs right away instead darcy kept on dreamin about the 18 year old russian saving his job.

He was improving in his time with rochester just like he has so far in the avalanche organization.

But that's the thing - I would say Grigs probably had better hands than reinhart. If you watch them play the difference is night and day. I recall you not being excited by Grigs and I doubt a nice game here and there has you feel g tons better.

not entirely true, I wasn't excited at the Idea of just Grigo sole based on the Roy connection and didn't want them to get blinded sided with that getting true value out of ROR. Im glad they got Grigo, but they were hot after Compher. Grigo was a throw in by the Sabres from what I've read since they thought he was KHL bound.

I felt the same the day before he was traded. Thete was talk if him being releaded. It hurt trading zads. I didn't want to trade Lemieux or compher. I don't know why you think everyone has to lose objectivity.

No, im not dreaming. A player with top line offensive talent would be a wondrous thing to be able to ride shotgun with eichel. Which is why i want to get the highest pick possible again this year.

He is what 21? Lots of time for him to develop still but because there has been a mass influx of 18 and 19 year olds who have come in and been very good over the last few years i guess he is out of time right?

Reinhart is a mediocre skater and i would say pure hockey skill wise they are on the same page. Grigo probably has a better shot.

I cant recall anyone here wanting Zads traded. Most were unhappy he was traded. What's your point.

I was upset they traded both, same with armia/lemieux in the kane deal. Ideally would have liked to keep 1 (to be fair i thought less of O'Reilly at the time).
