Awesome Kane!! This is why we dealt him. Goes to an all-star game in Toronto for NBA and PHONES the Sabres says I'm not coming!! He's an absolute cancer and now Buffalo has to deal with it.
- jjonah

It was poor judgement, but to think for a second the players in the room are mad at him would be wrong. Maybe disappointed, but he plays all out all the time, the players will still get behind him.

Glad you got rid of that cancer. How is your team doing this year, cancer free?
Oh, worse than last year? Interesting. Seems like that is what your team needed. Glad you got rid of that cancer that was holding your team back. Since Stafford has more points then Kane does right now, getting rid of the locker room cancer should have benefited you, right?

I think he is a larger cancer to fans than players. But I could be wrong.

It's ok to realize you have a disaster in the room. Armia is playing well and content with his play for this year. Lemieux looks the part and tearing it up with Windsor since the trade , Jack Roslivic having a great freshman in year in college. Oh yeah Myers and Stafford have been great. Kane won't be in Buffalo in 2 years. Needs a big city.
- jjonah

Lemieux is a time bomb, his attitude will have him traded within a few years. Armia is KHL bound soon. You can sell him all you want, but you're not fooling anybody.

why does he need a big city when Toronto's a helicopter ride away?

You think they stopped at the duty free to save on the $2k-3k bottle of booze?

I would say if players in the room are ok with it you may have the wrong players leading the team. He picked NBA over teammates.

They are not OK with it, but Kane will pay the fine and have to sit out a game, the teammates will not turn on him and are smart enough to not put themselves it the same position.

Some people care too much about others personal life. He is a hockey player , human, and not on MY payroll. He broke a rule by over sleeping and will pay the consequences. ok.. done We can't judge him on what his team mates think of him. How the hell do we know ?

Im just kidding with him.
But for sure..he probably got the chance to hang out with some high profile athletes and had a bit too much(who wouldnt). Happens to the best of us, we just dont have it all over twitter. Also the snap videos were of him so obviously someone else had his phone..

Count me in the camp with people that think this is being way overblown. He went to the NBA All-Star game. Big deal. Players go to other sport's games all the time. Steph Curry pounded the drum at the Super Bowl for the Panthers for crying out loud. Kane should have made sure he was able to get back in time for practice, but it's not like he didn't call.

I wonder how people would feel (or his teammates) if we were competing for a playoff spot right now. Something tells me it would be slightly different

I was with Girgensons on Eichel's wing but as of right now I am not worried by any contract Girgensons will be getting and I would like Ennis to come back soon and have a few god games before he gets dealt...
- Stripes77

Ennis isn't going anywhere this year.....not sure why everyone thinks that?

GMs don't typically trade guys when they're at their lowest value.

no, but this is his job as professional athletes. Would your work be ok with you missing time bc you partied to much the night before and couldn't make it in that day?

Basically, you're right. But, his money ultimately comes from fans pockets in the form of ticket sales, merchandise, concessions, etc... So, when he doesn't take his job seriously (And, I'm speaking about all pro athletes not just Kane) it's tantamount to slapping the fans in the face. This is just one reason why I stopped going to sporting events, but I can truly understand why people get upset at such trasgressions.

It's not a big deal to party, it's sort of an issue if you can't make it to practice because of it.

So Stamkos thing. At seasons end, if he is not resigned, we need to trade for his rights. Deal could then be 8 years (not limit of 7), if Stamkos approves of course.

Dream scenario would be Stamkos wanting to play for Toronto, but realizes they are not ready to make playoffs, signs with Sabres for 3-5 years.

Doubt that would happen, but never know.

Other side of it, if he was doing a 3-5 year deal, other teams might have an advantage over us (currently better suited for playoff wings).

Edit: seems 7 years unless traded at deadline

- Lilroot9

I doubt he's signing with anyone for 3-5 years
Also, he's young still
Why is it optimal for us to sign him to a 3 year deal instead of 7?

Why do you think that?

If anything he'd go back to the Finnish leagues he came from.

It's happened to a lot of players like Ovechkin, Johnny hockey Sean Monahan , Tyler Seguin I really don't think it's a big deal

They are just talking about him during the HNIC Jets vs Oilers game, they mentioned the Jets are happy with Armia growth and see him a big cog in their forechecking Top 9 schemes.

Dont think he goes anywhere
