It is. It's not a huge deal, but with Kane, it's never one incident. This is who he is.

Remember how we wanted a new core to "Show Eichel, and the other young players the ropes"

Is this what we meant?

- sbroads24

point taken, Brodie...that said, kane is not a part of the leadership core, imo...he's more like the wild card of the bunch...which is fine...Gionta, gorges, o'reilly and others are the mature ones in the group and as for the youngins, his antics won't affect players like Eichel, risto and skunk...they're all who they are and are comfortable with that, imo

Sounds like that went away without anything happening

He is being suspended for his one real screw up this year. You're still reaching IMO. He was injured where are your Ennis and Girgensons hot takes since they have missed more time than Kane?

Is anyone happy with Ennis or Girgensons BTW?

They are still waiting for tox results. It's likey no charges will be filed though.

The woman doesn't know if any assault occurred because she doesn't remember a thing. It was the hospital that initiated the investigation based on her lack of memory

As long as there isn't GHB in her system nothing will come of it. Those should be back any day now as it's almost been 2 months

I was with Girgensons on Eichel's wing but as of right now I am not worried by any contract Girgensons will be getting and I would like Ennis to come back soon and have a few god games before he gets dealt...

I don't think he did anything. But again....it's being at the wrong place at the wrong time. It's a theme with Kane.

Not saying the dude is a degenerate or anything, but come on...

NOT saying it's right but this happens more than people realize. Zads, Monahan and seguin are a few.. Usually it's one game

just watched the 30-in-30 on the '85 Bears...players these days are choir boys compared to them and veritable saints compared to athletes from the 60's and 70's

Well he has been to Toronto twice, MLB playoffs and NBA all star game. Not sure either of those will be an issue again, soon.

To me its more knowing when to party. I mean, lets say he came back in time for practice, he would be half there and I am sure yelled at there.

I do believe that winning fixes everything, so while I dont want this to be an issue, if we are winning, this wont be a huge issue. I understand we won yesterday and it is now an issue, but this year is playing with house money (lose, get great player, win and it would seem players are developing faster).

Right or wrong, these two were traded, and them being irresponsible was used as the rationale.

This isn't a huge deal, but it's not like Kane doesn't have a history of this kind of stuff

For sure, I remember Ruff was crushed with seguin being late because he said that he was screwing over jamie benn on the art ross race (Jamie did just fine tho)
Almost seems like it's worse from a teammate perspective than for a coach/GM

If he was considered a big acquisition in the offseason, would you be happy?

Awesome Kane!! This is why we dealt him. Goes to an all-star game in Toronto for NBA and PHONES the Sabres says I'm not coming!! He's an absolute cancer and now Buffalo has to deal with it.

If somebody paid me 1/50 of what Kane makes I would be so happy that I'd not go to sleep without having several alarm clocks running to make sure I didn't oversleep for work. These things happen, but man the lack of responsibility of some of these professional athletes. I would like to see the organization hit these players hard in the pocketbook. When they lose 50K for not showing up at practice, they'll change their attitude real quick.

For Girgensons, having a down year may benifit us to signing to a lower contract. But other than that, I would say we are not happy with him right now. He has been injured a lot. That is why I would trade him while his value is higher.

Kane will pay the $50k and have more free time! He's 24 now? 6th year? Does anyone still think the switch will go on? Has the maturity of a 14 year old.

no, I wouldn't...but then again I wouldn't know him as much either...gus has done the same things since Rochester...when faced with a new situation he soaks it all in...he still plays hard and is in constant motion, but he's not balls-to-the-wall every minute of every shift...once he grasps the nuances of the game around him is when he starts to find soft spots and weaknesses which turn into points...i'm not at all concerned about his play this season

Agreed. 50k now, 75k if he does it again and so on... Eventually, the message will get through.

It's ok to realize you have a disaster in the room. Armia is playing well and content with his play for this year. Lemieux looks the part and tearing it up with Windsor since the trade , Jack Roslivic having a great freshman in year in college. Oh yeah Myers and Stafford have been great. Kane won't be in Buffalo in 2 years. Needs a big city.

why does he need a big city when Toronto's a helicopter ride away?
