You could just shelf Reinhart and Eichel for the year and give Moulson 19 minutes of ice time as well.

Have them diagnosed as mentally incompetent maybe? I know a guy!

I thought Risto was Bionic so it would be hard to do that. Maybe Kane will do it . Then you could take both out at once.

You know I'm annoyed because I was actually starting to really like how Kane was playing. I just think this will be never ending with him.

I like Chychrun and Nylander outside of the big 3.

It's possible I just really, really like Lindholm/Shattenkirk. It just seems counterproductive to expedite the rebuild the way they have and then draft a guy who might be good in 2 years.

I want to believe they can acquire a top pairing guy some other way but...

Weber-Bogosian top pairing? Murray claiming "i swear this is the last time"

Weber is usually the best playmaker for the other team

You know he is Canadian and they tend to be bad guys . I try not judge while many are to quick to judge . He has shown bad judgement a couple of times . Not that he is a bad or mentally challenged person.

Sleeping in does not mean you are stupid or mentally challenged . Everyone has done it. I doubt it costed any of us $64,000.00 . Hopefully he learns from this mistake . Does he have a history of being a chronic sleep inner.

I think this unfortunately will have a bad ending with him either walking at the end of his contract, or him trying to get a coach fired.

I couldn't care less how he feels.

I never said I wanted him traded, or off the team, or suspended longer than a game. In fact, I couldn't care less if the Sabres lifted his suspension tomorrow. The fact is, this isn't the first, second, third, or fourth time he's found himself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. And the safe bet is that it won't be his last either.

Is he the only person to do something like this? No. Is he the only "repeat offender". No. However, everyone that does stuff like this deserves the flack like this. Fair or not, Evander Kane had a target put on his back a long time ago. Either he's too dumb to recognize it, or he just doesn't care. If it's the latter, fine, but he still knows all the baggage that comes with it, which means he's bringing the criticism on himself, and really doesn't deserve much sympathy, if any.

It's hilarious, Zadorov was suspended twice last year, but it was totally ok, he's young, but a 24 year old kid does it and it's the end of the world, he's a dumb, no good rapist who can't play for my team! That's for damn sure! We have an alcy running the team, a guy who has trouble in bathrooms, a sieve for a goalie, a lazy guy, a coke head, two old guys, two pylons, and a partridge in a pear tree. No wonder why this team sucks!

Sarcasm.

Where is this coming from?

I remember Zadorov getting plenty of criticism for it happening. I remember Paul Hamilton and Matthew Colley citing character concerns as to why he was traded, mentioning those incidents.

Funny how nobody seems to care about football players mishaps. Hell, at this point everyone seems to be pretty welcoming towards any off the field issues if the player will help the bills win on the field. Maybe they have just been that bad for that long i suppose..

Honestly, who cares? The only thing i care about is him not being able to play in ottawa. And frankly i dont even care that much because i would prefer the highest pick possible for the draft. Kane makes this team better when he is on the ice. That is the only thing i care about, and if his little 'mishaps' continue to recur i just hope it never happens in the playoffs ala radulov and the kostitsyn brothers.

I do think it was either intentional, pretty lazy, or he had to have been way gone to forget to set/sleep through an alarm. Ive done it all, including passing out with 2 hours before my alarm was set to go off and i did not sleep through it. I got up drove to work still drunk, and had a really really poopty day after my buzz wore off

We just have to buy our time to see whether this episode will end up with a question mark or an explanation point.

I'm hoping it will all be well in good.

I'm talking more on here, it was a c'est la vie kind of thing. Sure a few people had a problem with it, but it wasn't blown totally out of proportion like the Kane thing has been today.

I think it goes more along the lines of some people's(inflated) expectations for the team this year, last year we wanted to tank, so whatever, but this year people expected more even though everyone from the team itself to the media said not to expect much. A 5-7 win improvement. 10 if they're really good. But some people saw the acquisitions and totally over estimated just how hard it is to "turn it on" and while maybe not expecting playoffs were expecting a bubble team. And by and large it's been those people blowing this incident out of proportion. Like Max said. Haters gonna hate.

The team itself just said that he didn't show up for practice, but he did call in. He's suspended for tomorrow nights game, they're "disappointed", and that's it.

I'm not sure he did oversleep. The team said he called in to say he wasn't coming, that leads me to believe he was awake, but in no condition to drive/practice, and knew it, so he'd at least call in to tell them, so they didn't send out the search parties. And like they said, he could've easily gone and come back to work today. Bottom line is he (frank)ed up, he's paying the price, literally, and they'll move on.

Yeap i agree.

I am not worried about it, i just hope it never happens at a critical time. I would imagine it rubs a few people the wrong way in the locker room but I will save being upset about something like this for when it actually matters.

How bout a change of discussion?

If we land one of the big Finns in the draft I think I'd like to see a top 9 like this.
Kane-O'Rielly-Reinhart
Girgensons- Eichel-Laine/Puljujarvi
Foligno-Larsson-Ennis

Hopefully Murray can figure out how to unload Moulson. Stick gionta on the 4th where he belongs.

- zdp1189

I like it

If we don't get rid of Moulson, and I don't think we'll be able to...
4th line
Moulson-Schaller-Gionta

Hopefully Moulson can regain some scoring, get back into the top9 and then we could move him at the deadline.
In that case, we'd still prob have to eat salary for the last 2 years, but it would be worth it to free up a spot for someone like Bailey potentially

If you really wanna blow your mind...

Well if we added Stamkos then I would imagine we could ship someone like Ennis/Girgensons out to try and help fill our top 4 on defense. Then we'd really be rolling.

So a sad post:

Looks like my buddy Jackson my be very close to passing(Jackson is a 10 year old lab/pit mix). I'm posting here because he's an avid hockey fan.

I got him during in 2006 during the playoff series against Philly. What an exciting time. Spring was in the air, I had an awesome apartment on Hertel ave and the Sabres were stomping the Flyers. His first or second night with us was game 5, April 30th, a 3-0 win. Every time we scored, we went nuts and so did he. Jumping over couches and going crazy. I still remember the look in his eyes like "I barely know you, or why are we going crazy? Oh who cares let's go crazy!". Then a few days later the game 6 series clincher, a 7-1 Buffalo win. When the game concluded I took him outside for a pee. It had been a spectacular warm spring day, and after he did his business we sat out on the back steps watching the rest of the twilight disappear from the sky. You could hear Sabres fans cheering, hooting, beeping their horns and generally going crazy in every direction. Jackson was a little guy then still and I remember him wimpering and crawling up into my arms. He was confused about his new surroundings and all this craziness.

I'd like to believe Jackson always loved hockey. As he got older I think he did because I'd flip the game on and pet him non stop without even knowing. He is like me stress ball during games. He would get hours of pets while a freaked out. When I would swear at the refs he would look up at me like "Dude, what the hell right now?" It puts things in perspective because Jackson doesn't care that Evander Kane didn't show up to practice yesterday or that the Sabres have never won the cup. He just cared about spending time with me and getting a free 3 hour belly rub and picking up snacks when would drop on the floor in between.

Thanks for reading my depressing post. It makes me feel better to have written it. I will always associate Jackson with hockey. Hopefully the vet can do something for him but you know how that goes. When it's time it's time. I'm a better person for having had him.
