It comes down to the killer instinct and willingness to battle on the ice AND in the weight room. Physical strength has been TT's weakness since he was 17. He clearly hasn't put the work in and that points directly to his character. For a long term solution in the top 6, it's a no brainier for me to move TT.
- EnzoD

This is my biggest concern for this kid, I don't see any passion when he plays. If you look at the top 6 forwards ON THIS TEAM, he can't take any of these spots unless there's an injury or Hossa has a big decline in his play. It seems like it may always be a promotion by default for him.

And what if TT and Dano don't reach their potential and they squander the best years remaining of the core without any Cups?

And what if they move one to win now and the DON' T win now - and they've sold the future?

Yo' pays yo' money and yo' takes yo' chances - and you never know the outcome until the fat lady sings.

And you hope the evaluators in the organization properly evaluate and make the right decisions.

Everyone needs to truly contemplate how the Hawks acquired all their current talent. They SUCKED for so many years and had good draft picks! Maybe it doesn't have to be as bad after Kane and Toews retire, but seriously... They will not be a great team forever.

Also: maybe keeping Dano, Teets, and Panarin allows the Hawks a shot at 3 more Cups in 5 years ('17, '19, '21) without a repeat this year, as was posted on this thread. I guess Cups in '10, '13, '15, '17, '19, and '21 would qualify as a dynasty.

Think, though: for the last Cup Keith and Seabs will be Rozsival's current age. So a Cup in '21??? And even in '19??? As Buffalo and Edmonton and Florida mature and figure out how to win???

I still think Cups in '10, '13, '15, and the REPEAT in '16 would be more impressive. Perhaps with one last kick at the can in '18.

Sadly, my wife did not get me a crystal ball for Valentine's Day.

Hawks recall Hinostroza...5'9 158 lbs., Beautiful! WTF!

Relax he has more game then a certain 6' 4" guy playing in Rockford that was the player of the game tonight
You want him or Bickell in the lineup?
The NHL is changing and if the league management get their $hit together and starts hiring refs to call the game enforcing the rules as written revenue will skyrocket because more goals will be scored and it will be a more entertaining game

I'm on board with that buddy, I fell asleep in my seat last night at the Hawks game, left with 10 minutes to go in the 3rd, no flow or rhythm ,teams are playing the trap against the Hawks. I want to see Marko Dano, play him,let him learn up here.
If Icould get1shot at a trade the first guy I want forthe long haul is Jonathen Drouin, youdonr know what to believe , who's in , who's out, every one has a source or know. I guess we will all getthe answers at 3pm on feb 29 th.

I asked this in a previous thread - Anyone watching The Hogs , Is Bicks getting his balance back playing regularly in the Rock? Is he playing in front of the net, or still a perimeter player? Is there a slight chance he can make an impact fir the PO's?

Too bad, I really was hoping he might be useful come playoffs. Well, I just hope he becomes a good teammate and accepts his next assignment with grace.

Trying to do some catching up here...

Am i understanding this right, that Hossa will only be out for a week? Or just that IR calls for you to be out at least 7 days?

And can someone who watches the Hogs explain why Hinostroza got called up instead of Dano? I thought i had heard that Dano was starting to play better, this seemed like the perfect time.

The motto is One Goal. Not One Goal Right Now.

I know you have to give up quality to get quality back, paying a fair price even if it's high is fine. Overpaying because the market is overvalued is another thing altogether and Stan should (and likely will) stay away from those trades.

- DarthKane

Stan won't do anything silly, but pretty sure One Goal isn't 2017

I sure do that's where I put my money the moves Bowman and staff have made, have been tremendous they have my trust and if they make no moves I'm good with it, if they trade Dano, TT or Gusto for a rental I will trust that move as well

I believe the way this team is set up we have a strong possibility of at least 2 cups in 6 years, possibly 3, they have a wonderful mix of young and old with the core in the meat of it.

It seems we are always Black and White when it comes to trading for rentals and holding onto our prospects. Truth is......it is a matter of extent. There are a few, just a few....who are in luv with certain prospects....like TT or Dano....and don't want them moved for ANY rental. There are also a few...just a few, that would sell the farm, just to land Boedker for the stretch run.

I think the truth lies more in between. ALL prospects should be on the table....but not to part with most of them for a 2-3 month rental. It is all about getting the best rentals we can get without destroying the bit of future we have in place.

That means TT and/or Dano should be available for the right deal....but should we deal TT, Dano, Pokka and a first for a rental...Hell no. I know that is being extreme, but all I am saying is it is NOT Black and White. It is NOT hold the prospects vs trade all the prospects. There is a balance....and that is what Stan is mulling over.

My thoughts are....we WILL make a deal or two....and two or 3 of our young guys will be moved...along with a high pick or two. BUT, we will retain some prospects that Stan covets. Do we mortgage a little of our future for a shot now???...YES! Do we overpay extremely to get that one rental....I highly doubt it, nor do I want it!!!

It's called "Parity". If teams are not able to build winning teams, Toronto "War Room" will.

Well I was thinking and wondering if there is any statistical analysis about hockey's players when they peak, how bad is their drop off as they get older and honestly based on this article looks like the Hawks brass does not believe we only have a 3 year window

Great post. I am not paid to scout or analyze a young 21 yr old NHL player. Though, I have played, officiated and coached the game for almost 20 years (started at age 6). As such, in my honest opinion, TT is expendable on this roster. I see him as a 45 point perimeter player at best. He has the puck control and passing but he doesn't have the breakaway speed necessary to be a true top line RW. As I've stated many times, there are a dozen IMPACT players at under 170lbs (Gaudreau, Gostisbere, Karlsson, Panarin, ect.). It comes down to the killer instinct and willingness to battle on the ice AND in the weight room. Physical strength has been TT's weakness since he was 17. He clearly hasn't put the work in and that points directly to his character. For a long term solution in the top 6, it's a no brainier for me to move TT.

The McDonaugh injury may be big factor in that.

Wouldnt want Hawks in on Yandle anyway....not a fan of his defensive game...

Just a Debbie Donwner doll?

But you are correct that they got the two elite players by being lousy and getting to draft in the top three twice and in the Kane draft by getting THE best offesnive player.

I think understand your tenor, and the fact that this board gets littered with all these demands. insults of the current roster, I understand how you along with management want there to be high level skilled players in the stable who COULD develop into real scoring threats.

But...Sharp toiled on the Philly Phantoms and came in a trade.
so there is a chance you trade and and a guy develops into an all-around player. (Sharp could always shoot the puck.)

So as the championship window that I believe I closed in 2016-2017 back about five years ago on this board is drawing to a close, but when things start to look like patches can't sustain around the core, the CORE will go, and the money will attract big star UFAs.

if that can bring you any solice.
