Would love to have him or someone like him. For some reason Bowman thinks big is 5"9 160 lbs., the Hawkshad a nice run in January but something tells me teams are gonna be very unfriendly to then for the next 7 weeks. I don't think Anahiem played their best game last night, Hitchcock already said they tried to play the Hawks way, that didn't work , back to previous, LA will give them all they c an handle.
Every game willbe a playoff type atmosphere.Hopin Bowman does something.anything further on Montreal, Would like Emelin and DelaRose in a package? Maybe?

Need to crank at least one or two more cups out of this core.

In terms of shipping off guys in Rockford...

We just don't want to end up like the Red Wings the last five years. Always in the playoffs but left with Old AF Chedderburg Datsyk Kronwall and no life to speak of outside of that.

with new deals to Kruger, Panarin, Shaw, and Danault I don't think were headed for that.

88, 19, 2, 4, 15, 11, 57, 7, 81 to an extent, and 50 are all locked up.

With this set in proverbial stone for 3 or more years we can find new Gooses, TVR Panarin.5s every year or two to make up the difference.

McNeil Ross Pokka Hino etc. are not going to change the world over the next 3-5 yrs.
TT and Dano have an ability to influence the club at a higher level. They are the ones we need to tread carefully around shipping off. We would be in trouble two years down the line if we didn't pick in this years draft until the 3rd or 4th round, lost Dano or TT, and lost two more out of Rockford.

I agree with what JJ was saying a thread or two ago about Bowman trying to use either the first rounder OR multiple assets out of the Rock. If we do both of those TT AND Dano better develop into damn good players.

Would love to see a nice big trade with CAR. Or just a typical one with ARI or CALGARY

Just catching up on this new blog today-- Great job JJ--

To me its clear that Panarin and possibly even TVR / Gus have surpassed TT, Dano, Pokka, Hartman on the prospect charts-- yes they are a bit older but The Hawks seem like they can 'afford' to deal one of the younger 'untouchable' kids to go all in for another Cup run-- Agreed that TT is not another Kane and I have no idea what Dano could be as I havent seen enough of him-- but I know what Panarin IS and likely will improve going forward--

Maybe prior to the Hossa injury the Hawks could have been comfortable with the team status quo -- or maybe that was all a smokescreen from Stan-- but now with Hossa on the IR-- they likely HAVE to make a move and they SHOULD-- Destiny and Dynasty wait for no one-- you gotta play to win-- Its Stans move--

Is putting Hossa on the IR vs LTIR, due to trade negotiation leverage? Maybe portray to other teams less desperation, then throw him on LTIR closer to the deadline when they might make a deal?

There has to be a balance between winning now and not giving up so much that you remove the possibility of long term sustained success. I'll trust in Stan if he decides to keep the likes of Teravainen and Dano or trade them.

One thing to keep in mind is that trading for a high end rental doesn't guarantee anything. Stan could end up trading Dano and/or Teravainen and the team still doesn't win the Cup.

Yea I know. Just hope a cap floor team thinks they could get a half year.out of him next year and make him a deadline asset to move to a.contender that feels like they need to add size

He plays tough and has strength at his size. He didn't look out of place physically in his first NHL stint this year. I really hope Hayden signs with the Hawks...maybe he can replace what we had in 2013 Bickell...

IR means they can make a call up without toster spot penalty. They can put him on LTIR anytime they want.

Two years later Hossa is 40 and Keith is 34, Seabs 33, Tazer and Kaner are 30. I think the chances to win a SC going forward are much lower because of the 2 years of aging. The one thing that could make up for the drop are if TT and Dano are as talented as Kane and Hossa, respectively.

Are they that talented? I think if they were, they would be contributing much more to the team RIGHT NOW. At age 20, Hossa put up 30 points in 60 games and then got 56 points in 78 games the next year. At age 19, Kane put up 72 points and won ROY.

Maybe TT and Dano have more of an Andrew Ladd ceiling, and Ladd has been a great depth player on two SC-winning teams. But we can't wait 2 years for them to reach that ceiling as the core is two years older. Hence, the time is NOW.

And what if keeping these 2 guys and Panarin for the next 5 years gives us a chance to win 3 more cups in 5 years just not being able to repeat this year, I'll take the 3 out of 5 and honestly I don't want to look like the Penguins in 3 years.

Lead Rockford in points......Don't judge someone based on weight & height. Vinny is very competitive and goes into the corners.

But isn't the delay in putting Kruger on LTIR is to better facilitate a deal, from a cap space perspective?

I don't doubt that down there, but we are entering the most intense period of the NHL season where most teams will bring it everynite, fighting for their playoff lives where teams are gonna put the bullseye on the hawks backs every game . The way they have been looking lately, they maybe in trouble, If SB can pull off some of these alleged moves to add kids like Rask, JVR , Staal, which is a reach or whom ever to add some beef with skill then we should be Okay,Hard to tell what is real, what is not when it comes to whoSB is in the hunt for. I just hope that if they trade a Kid like Dano , or TT for a Staal or Ladd,I hope there is a guarantee that A)they can re sign them and they will take less money to play here to maybe win 1or2 more cups,B) Bickell's contract goes the other way, which I find highly unlikely in either case.

And what if TT and Dano don't reach their potential and they squander the best years remaining of the core without any Cups?

And what if they move one to win now and the DON' T win now - and they've sold the future?

Yo' pays yo' money and yo' takes yo' chances - and you never know the outcome until the fat lady sings.

And you hope the evaluators in the organization properly evaluate and make the right decisions.

Great post. I am not paid to scout or analyze a young 21 yr old NHL player. Though, I have played, officiated and coached the game for almost 20 years (started at age 6). As such, in my honest opinion, TT is expendable on this roster. I see him as a 45 point perimeter player at best. He has the puck control and passing but he doesn't have the breakaway speed necessary to be a true top line RW. As I've stated many times, there are a dozen IMPACT players at under 170lbs (Gaudreau, Gostisbere, Karlsson, Panarin, ect.). It comes down to the killer instinct and willingness to battle on the ice AND in the weight room. Physical strength has been TT's weakness since he was 17. He clearly hasn't put the work in and that points directly to his character. For a long term solution in the top 6, it's a no brainier for me to move TT.
