especially with core locked in, but don't like wasting any year on the pretense of holding on to some Ice Hog that can't break through or another bottom 10 1st round pick.

There has to be a balance between winning now and not giving up so much that you remove the possibility of long term sustained success. I'll trust in Stan if he decides to keep the likes of Teravainen and Dano or trade them.

One thing to keep in mind is that trading for a high end rental doesn't guarantee anything. Stan could end up trading Dano and/or Teravainen and the team still doesn't win the Cup.

The motto is One Goal. Not One Goal Right Now.

I know you have to give up quality to get quality back, paying a fair price even if it's high is fine. Overpaying because the market is overvalued is another thing altogether and Stan should (and likely will) stay away from those trades.

🚨 #ICEHOGS GOAL!! 🚨 Bryan Bickell HAMMERS home a one-timer and Rockford still has 56 seconds left of PP time! https://t.co/h8SNqj6XqF

>>>Meanwhile, for all the praise and expectation heaped on Teravainen, he has zero points and is -5 in his last ten games, and appears to be falling back into some bad habits exhibited earlier in the season of not going hard after pucks in traffic.<<<<

1 empty net goal in his last 26 games and 5 assists...not scoring can be tolerated when you are contributing in other ways...but TT has been trainwreck in other areas also...

this talk about all in this year at the trade deadline...umm whats all these rumbling about the cap melting by 4 mil when just a few weeks ago butthead said it was probably going up....

if true maybe they better go all in cuz this summer the core gets blown up

Dump Teuvo...he is the epitome of unfulfilled potential...falls every time a body is near him...loses the puck at almost every attempt to enter the zone...get something for him while everyone still thinks he is worth something.
- Chisoxhawk

Unfulfilled potential at 21, less than 2 years in North America.

Glad I got more time to figure my "game" out than we're willing to give him.

Need to crank at least one or two more cups out of this core.

In terms of shipping off guys in Rockford...

We just don't want to end up like the Red Wings the last five years. Always in the playoffs but left with Old AF Chedderburg Datsyk Kronwall and no life to speak of outside of that.

with new deals to Kruger, Panarin, Shaw, and Danault I don't think were headed for that.

88, 19, 2, 4, 15, 11, 57, 7, 81 to an extent, and 50 are all locked up.

With this set in proverbial stone for 3 or more years we can find new Gooses, TVR Panarin.5s every year or two to make up the difference.

McNeil Ross Pokka Hino etc. are not going to change the world over the next 3-5 yrs.
TT and Dano have an ability to influence the club at a higher level. They are the ones we need to tread carefully around shipping off. We would be in trouble two years down the line if we didn't pick in this years draft until the 3rd or 4th round, lost Dano or TT, and lost two more out of Rockford.

I agree with what JJ was saying a thread or two ago about Bowman trying to use either the first rounder OR multiple assets out of the Rock. If we do both of those TT AND Dano better develop into damn good players.

Would love to see a nice big trade with CAR. Or just a typical one with ARI or CALGARY

with number 81 out I wonder if the lines will look something like this:

65-19-14
72-15-88
34-48-86
11-24-70

Panik has some skill. Maybe put Sekac and Panik with Toews?

The only line that's close to 100% certain is 72-15-88. The other nine positions get thrown into Q's blender at 11 speed until further notice.

Yeah I saw that the fights weren't that great kane is a tough dude and petrovic wasostly trying to hug the last two fights. 1st time it's happened since Bret gallant and krys batch in the pre season and regular season the late great Bob Probert went with Jody Shelley. Shaw needs to be on the 3rd line so he can play his game and hit and mix it up. He's not a top six winger long term. This team needs a wake up call if it wasn't for kane panarin and Crawford we would be bottom 5 in the nhl now.
- vandymeer23

Vandy,Flyers/Rangers getting ready to start, Simmonds knows its coming his way, ole time Hockey! Let's see if he answers the bell early! At least the Rangers know what has tobe done unlike some teams that let their CAPTIAN or stars get rung out!

Realistic or speculation?
- ikeane

Speculation. I was trying to figure out who gives the Hawks the best chance at repeating. If you add both Rask and Skinner even if they had to trade Teuvo they'd still have insane depth. Also adding Rask would create a log jam at center in the bottom 6 (Kruger, Rasmussen, Rask, Danault) so it gives the Hawks more options in the offseason.

IR only means you can add a player to the 23 player total roster. I don't think it has any effect on the cap or how long he is out for. LTIR means 10 games and 24 days. But you get cap relief. I think with Hinzo up and hossa on IR we should be right at the cap? and can place Kruger on LTIR.

I do recall Kruger, a guy who DOES a lot of other things, getting pretty much crucified/written off for a similar lack of offensive production.

Personally, I think getting bumped up with 65 and 19 as a RW should get TT going a bit.

JJ, if TT gets a shot next to Toews and doesn't look good do you think it will decrease his value on the trade market?

Would love to have him or someone like him. For some reason Bowman thinks big is 5"9 160 lbs., the Hawkshad a nice run in January but something tells me teams are gonna be very unfriendly to then for the next 7 weeks. I don't think Anahiem played their best game last night, Hitchcock already said they tried to play the Hawks way, that didn't work , back to previous, LA will give them all they an handle.
Every game willbe a playoff type atmosphere.Hopin Bowman does something.anything further on Montreal, Would like Emelin and DelaRose in a package? Maybe?
