I will admit you give him too much leash while at the same time I will admit EnzoD can be overly critical
That being said, NOBODY gets knocked down and off the puck as much as TT on the hawks. Not even close. And its to the point where its clearly ruining his confidence.
NHL doesnt stand for no hitting league and he needs to learn that one way or another. Either he needs to beef up and develop some snarl or he needs more time back in Rockford - hawkeytalkman
It's not ruining his defense, or Q wouldn't put him on the PK much more to this game then offense

Look, I was just making jest of the situation, because honestly while he hasn't had a good game, the nit picking is laughable. He is a young guy, coming off a half year as a rookie and playing some important minutes for 900k per year. You somehow expect him to be perfect. The kid gets knocked around a bit, but don't get why you think he needs to be under a microscope. He needs to improve but you act like he is the only one that makes a mistake on the ice. - breadbag
That'd be fine if I was expecting perfection. He is so far from perfection it's not even close. I expect him to contribute something positive on the ice. A scoring chance created by him would be a great start. All I see are turnovers and lost puck battles. I'm really not sure wha the TT lovers are watching bc I see a guy that doesn't belong in the NHL right now. Is his career over? Of course not. But guys like Dano, Hartman and Baun will lay it all on the line and can make some plays with the puck too. TT has been given free reign all year and it reminds me of Rundblad. He does not deserve to be in the lineup right now. That is my only point. |

I guess it's true people need something to female dog about,
Really comparing TT to Rundblad sorry no comparison Rundblad is terrible
Nice game by the Hawks glad to see Mash score, glad to see this team play with some energy
What a save by Darling, OUTSTANDING! - BetweenTheDots
The comparison is the LEASH given to TT and Runblad after months of terrible play. Reading is a skill. |

Hey Im not trying to pick a fight at all, but is there a better opportunity to give a struggling young player with good ice awareness some ice time than being up 3-0 on the PK against the worst power play team in the league?
Q may make some questionable decisions at times, but he is also smart enough to give guys the confidence booster they need at times |

You are right. TT needs some work, but like I said, he is the youngest and smallest guy on the team. He is gonna get pushed around, especially playing on a checking line with Danault and Desi. They are letting him play because he is usually responsible defensively and adds some offensive skill to a somewhat unskilled bottom 6. They could do a lot worse for 900K per year.
He does need to gain some confidence for sure. It might not be this year that he gets it together. |

Like 1 G in 25 games? I like his potential as much as the next Hawks fan but this kid needs a reality check via healthy scratch or AHL stint. Mashinter has more goals than him in the last 2 months and he's a pure goon. |

BTD you need to be a little more objective here.
This game is pretty in hand and we are playing Toronto, a shoe-in bottom 3 team. If this was ANA/STL/LAK/etc do you think he would have that ice time?
We both know he would have splinters in his bum bum on the bench |

Was chatting with someone , this is for the Hawks fans who have been around a long long long time......
Can we compare Shaws heart to Dirk Grahams heart ??? Shaw could wear a letter for a lot of teams . What does everyone 1985 BDay or earlier think ?? |

Hard to say.
Dirk Graham was an elite two way forward. A selke winner and captain.
Shaw plays above his weight. But Graham was a toews-type leader. Not just a feisty forward like Shaw. Shaw has heart but Graham had heart AND leadership |

THIS x1000. It's just that Toronto is so inept that they can't capitalize on all the Hawks' poor play.
In the 12-game win streak, they beat 6 non-playoff teams and then a few bubble/wild card teams: Pittsburgh x2, Colorado x2 and Nashville x2. I want to see them suck it up and do well in mid-March when they play St. Louis, Dallas, and Washington all in a row. - DMChi2010
BINGO
Hawks with a fine surge in the 3rd, but need to beat top teams to properly tune up for encore Cup run |

TDL Prospects since the New Year:
Boedkker: 18 games, 1 G, 5 A, -13
Rask: 16 games, 4 G, 4 A, -2
Staal, E: 18 games, 1 G, 5 A, -3
Versteeg: 18 games, 6 G, 4 A, -1
Purcell: 18 games, 2 G, 5 A, -3
Eriksson: 20 games, 6 G, 5 A, +2
Komarov: 18 games, 3 G, 7 A, -2
For your reference:
Andrew Shaw: 21 games, 4 G, 10 A, +8
poop... leave Shawsie as 1LW but we need a 3rd line that can score. What about Komarov? He's on a terrible team but is only -2 and wouldn't be a rental. Boedkker is on a terrible team but has the worst +/- of anyone. Eriksson would be good. And, sorry, but Versteeg wouldn't be a bad option. He's a better 3rd liner than Desjardins. |

Yeah, he is slumping in the goal scoring dept, but it is more that he is slumping while playing in the wrong role. It isn't like others are really outscoring him all that much either. Danault has 1 in his 26 games. Dano has 1 in his 13. TT has not excelled but not many guys in that bottom 6 have been effective for goal scoring. I just don't get jumping on every mistake he makes given his age. He does bring some positives and he will get better. |
