Question for everybody - While Hossa is on IR, can he do coaching duty with some of the young guys , or can he not participate in on-ice activity? I would like to see him work with TT and Dano on parts of their game.

Yea, he just cant play any games for 7 days minimum. Other problem is you dont want him working on protecting the puck and battle drills with a LBI during his recovery time. Thats what they need to work on most

Did TVR just bang his head against the goal post to knock it off its mooring? That didn't look good...

This hit me today .... I was thinking aboot TT and how fragile/afraid he is.

1) Does TT EVER go into any of the corners with his head DOWN to fight for the puck?

2) Does TT EVER hang onto the puck for 3 seconds or longer?

3) Does TT EVER look happy about playing hockey? (he looks like he just lost his dog)

4) Does TT EVER body check anybody period?

5) Honest Question: When was the last time you saw TT on any sort of breakaway?

6) Does TT EVER set up a teammate for a scoring chance?

7) Last shift TT did not fall down?

8) How often does TT get a QUALITY shot on goal?

9) How often does TT stick check the other team when he just lost the puck?

10) Do you really think that TT EVER has a chance at 50 points in a season?

Truth be told, I honestly liked TT last year because I thought he was becoming a quality player that we thought he would become. Lately, he just does not look like he can be trusted with his play (or lack of play). If we can trade him for someone of quality, then do it!

We need to think "in the moment" because we have the core players in place. IMO, we can't hold off and wait 3 or 4 years for TT and others to develop!

WIN NOW!

I was sure you had a problem with it. Or maybe he made a huge mistake winning the faceoff. It was probably his fault Toews was tossed out of the dot. He probably put a Voodoo curse on Panrin's stick too, so maybe blame the 4 minute penalty on him too.

I know you feel he is dragging the whole team down. They'd probably be ahead of Washington if he didn't get knocked down in the 1st period.

Hawks still look like shhhhhhhhhhhhhhat
- philco28

THIS x1000. It's just that Toronto is so inept that they can't capitalize on all the Hawks' poor play.

In the 12-game win streak, they beat 6 non-playoff teams and then a few bubble/wild card teams: Pittsburgh x2, Colorado x2 and Nashville x2. I want to see them suck it up and do well in mid-March when they play St. Louis, Dallas, and Washington all in a row.

Like you, I was very encouraged by last year and thought he would be a big part of the team going forward. #3 is what has me most concerned. Watched his pre-game interview and not sure he cracked a smile. Honestly wondering if he doesn't want to be on this team. Let's face it, he'd probably have a bigger role on other teams and wasn't he used to be a "star?" He left the SC festivities early last year to go back to Finland. He seemed so happy in his SC day videos with Timonen and Raanta, but now he's gloomy gus. Chicken-egg as to whether the head is affecting the game or v.v.

Look, I was just making jest of the situation, because honestly while he hasn't had a good game, the nit picking is laughable. He is a young guy, coming off a half year as a rookie and playing some important minutes for 900k per year. You somehow expect him to be perfect. The kid gets knocked around a bit, but don't get why you think he needs to be under a microscope. He needs to improve but you act like he is the only one that makes a mistake on the ice.

I will admit you give him too much leash while at the same time I will admit EnzoD can be overly critical

That being said, NOBODY gets knocked down and off the puck as much as TT on the hawks. Not even close. And its to the point where its clearly ruining his confidence.

NHL doesnt stand for no hitting league and he needs to learn that one way or another. Either he needs to beef up and develop some snarl or he needs more time back in Rockford
