Mash was just on the CSN interview after the first period and Lou Stuckmeyer asked him...."when you get the puck like that, do you know if you're going to shoot it or not?".......and his answer was........"I'm a shooter, so yeah, I'll shoot it unless there's something open"..........his new nickname........"Mash the Shooter".......Sharpie's got nothing on Mash..........

Wasn't his best period that's for sure. Hopefully he can rebound in the second and third.

Ironic that almost all of his goals this year came in between the dots and in high traffic areas.

and a couple of empty netters....sure hope the hell he get it together by the end of the season...

lets see how many of us had a guy like panik on toew's right (in absence of hossa) ahead of TT and Dano

Use your DVR and re-watch the play. He is a boy in a Man's league. How much leash does he get? He's done jack squat all year. Send him to the AHL to lift weights and get his confidence back. I'd like to see Hartman, Dano, McNeil or Baun(when healthy) given a shot. He provides nothing but turnovers for the last 2 months.

He isn't going to win a lot of physical battles, but over dramatizing every play is a bit much. I know he is the whipping boy lately but he has been one of the smallest (no pun intended) issues on the team this season. He isn't scoring lately, but he also is playing with a 4th line plug in Desi and a rookie C who focuses on the defensive side of the puck. Not a recipe for success with a young guy who is a finesse player.

The bottom 6 doesn't have a lot of offensive talent right now, so he brings a bit of skill, but he does clearly need more time. I think he gets leash from the Hawks because of just how important he was for them winning the cup. They may not have gotten past Anahiem or TB without some of his play.

Point is, you need to check your expectations.

TT is working on about 60-65 consecutive bad periods in a row isn't he?

20 games plus is about right...?

- ArlingtonRob

And before that he sucked bc he was "dinged up". TT is getting a Rundblad sized leash when most players at his age and on-ice performance would've been in Rockford 3 months ago...

Good point-- and what I find interesting is that to a person everyone involved with the Hawks talk about TT as untouchable-- -- which will stay that way-- UNTIL he isn't--

I really do hope it pans out for best TT & the Hawks-- or if not they dump him before the luster wears off--

Antoine Vermette and Patrick Sharp carried that 3rd line, not Tuevo Teravainen. His linemates are not the problem, his severe allergy to contact is the problem. Any contact and he loses the puck. Any threat of contact and he is "El Matador" with a fly by poke check. He needs a healthy scratch or bus trip to Rockford bc he's been providing nothing of value on the ice for the Hawks for a while.

TT, you're out of your element!

Haha. Just messing around.

But, honestly, they should send him to the Rock to work on his game and confidence. It'll do the young guy good. He's just over-matched in all aspects of the game roght now.

You can believe what you want. I won't try to convince you, but TT was just as important to that whole 3rd line clicking as either Sharp or Vermette. I'm not saying he has had a great year or doesn't have to develop his game further, but he hasn't been set up for success lately. This team has bigger issues.
