Oh damn his schedule B bonus is all in one.
Hawks are more screwed then McDonaghs jaw right now. But they've been screwed since like 2010 and have won 2 more cups since then. - rangerdanger94
I laugh when people talk about the cap problems the Blackhawks will have. They won 3 cups in the last few years. Who the (frank) cares if they have cap problems after that.

Are you...are you laughing at me, boy? - PhillySportsGuy
If you think it matters at all that they will have to deal with cap problems after winning 3 cups in 6 years then yes. I think it's a pretty good trade off.

I said Habs or some poop yo doesn't have to be them they're just the first team I thought of with a poopty goalie situation
EDIT: But I'm usually with you on the "just keep the picks it's not worth it" mindset but I just...he's (frank)ing good. - Giroux_Is_God
Laine is awesome, and he has legit 40 goal potential, combined with great on-puck play. He's a force. I just don't want to trade for him if the cost is that high. Two first and a Laughton or a 2nd? I'd mull it over. Just not Sanheim. And, realistically speaking, I don't think Hexy wants to trade Sanheim, his first draft pick and someone he reached to get bc he believed in him. He still has way too much potential.
Anywho, goalies have been dealt at the draft for 1sts before, so I think Neuvy can wait. Streit...I still think he can be marketed for a 1st or couple 2nds. I'd want to take advantage of a team that thinks way too much of themselves and their playoff chances. Maybe a Colorado, who could poop the bed at any moment. Or Florida, who I don't think is going anywhere past the 1st.

Hearing Raffl will be for sale. Not sure I agree with this, I think he is a good role player for them. Unless he wants crazy $s, I'd keep. - Marc D
Agree. Resign him for 2 years at maybe $1.75-2 AAV. Take advantage of his lack of production, because I think he could jump back up again next season. It's not like his overall play has been poor. Unless they can get a 2nd for him or something (which I doubt), I think his value to the team exceeds his trade value.

Oh, and
- funmaster18
Well, obviously. In real money value, Panarin is probably worth at least $5-6M this year and, at most, he'll make $3.5M. It's just nice to know the Hawks will have to deal with an overage on top of the cap likely dropping next year.

*waits for rinaldo (the poster) to ask you if you think he's a core player* - funmaster18
Not a core player , but a good role player.
G, Jake, Couts, Mason, Simmonds, Gotisbehere are the core.
BSchenn, MDZ not core but I'd like to keep for next year.
Schenn can be dealt if they get a top six LW back of similar age, or sign to a short term deal.
I'd keep Neuvirth for next year too unless they are blown away.

I like Raffl and his ability to play up and down the lineup. I'd like to bring him back, but I could definitely see teams being very interested in him at the deadline and the Flyers getting an offer they can't say no to. With the cap rumored to go down as much as $4 mil, him being a rental will make him even more valuable. If Rinaldo can command a 3rd in the offseason, I could definitely see Raffl going for a 2nd at the deadline. I know it was an awful trade by Sweeney, but it's just an example of it only taking 1 GM liking a player to get a better than expected return.

They'll move him for a huge return and find some undrafted rookie to come in and play top 4 right away. - PhillySportsGuy
He racks up a ton of PP points (a ton), but his even strength underlying numbers this season are just awful. His scoring was down last year, but his underlying #'s were still ok-good, even if he still showed decline. Now it's the scoring and possession. You're right though, someone will still offer 8 1sts or something.

It would honestly take 3 years of terrible play from Seabrook for him to lose value

The Flyers aren't dead just yet .....but realistically have to go on a bit of a run in the next 2 weeks or it's time to be a seller.....they don't or shouldn't have to "tank" but it's time to see some of the future in March. Move out some vets that are obviously not part of the future....Schultz, Read, Raffl....anyone off the 4th line and perhaps the backup goalie.
Call up Leirer, Alt and maybe even Morin for a looks see.....a top ten pick is looking more and more probable. - landros 2
If Raffl is willing to take a similar contract I actually would like to see him back for a bottom 6 role.

Flyers have dealt with cap issues for years and have nothing to show for it, so I'd love to be the Blackhawks right now. Wondering how they will deal with all these cap issues after first deciding where they will fit their next banner whenever they get it.

Well, let's ask this.
Is Sanheim a trade piece right now? I'm not saying Hexy should be dangling him, but in a blockbuster trade- and I don't mean for Bufflin...I mean one that CLEARLY is what this team needs (like trading for a young sniper with 40 goal potential )- is Sanheim expendable behind gritted teeth?
