Zombie still in huh
- Marc D

He scored a goal 2 games ago, and drew a penalty yesterday. I suspect his contract extension is being worked on as we speak.

i would have kept gagner for the shootout that's going to happen. he's got great hands. what's the difference, they suck anyway.

This coach is very reactionary. Lineup stays the same after wins, changes after losses. How can you expect players to build any sort of cohesion when they are in and out of the lineup like yo yos.

Sucks that Simmonds' career is likely going to end due to a life-threatening injury today

It's been bantered about but I'm not sure if there been a clear answer. Is laughton subject to waivers?
- Just5

He's not. CapFriendly.com has all the details.

So VdV's excellent performance is due to playing every game on the same line?

He has lots of incentive bonuses. Could really (frank) the cap up for the Hawks next year. Especially, if it really does decrease by $4M
- PhillySportsGuy

They will find a way to keep him. They traded Saad, and Sharp last year for cap purposes, and haven't skipped a beat.

It's time for Tanner Glass to earn his $1.5M per year paycheck

Ha! Amazing with all the lineup changes, that VDV has played all 54 games. Has nothing to do with playing for Hakstol at UND though.

The entire line struggled, so I get the switch. And frankly Laughts and Read are better. But if they're shopping Gagner, keeping him out for RJ is...actually per usual nvm.
- Mononoke

I think it's a size queen situation. He doesn't want the 4th line to be all smaller guys.

Honestly, if the Rangers want to agree to MAD, I think the Flyers will happily oblige them. The Flyers are a fringe playoff team and the Rangers are a dark horse (at the least) contender. If they want to risk their players being injured in a retaliatory attack because their captain accepts hits by cross checking a player in the head, I say go for it, ruin your season.

Also, Simmonds likely tunes Tanner Glass up. Glass is big, but that's about it.

IDK what it is, but Matt Read is a much better played than VDV is. VDV couldn't crack a 60 point teams lineup in Edmonton a few years ago, yet he's a regular with the Flyers.
- PLindbergh31

Maybe he thinks some guys aren't giving their all while others are. One of the only logical explanations, IMO

I think the game will be pretty tame to be honest. Maybe someone takes a run at Simmonds or Glass tries to drop the gloves or something but that's it.

What I love about the Ranger is that while they don't have many "enforcers" or prototypical tough guys, every player in that lineup from top to bottom is capable of playing a physical and gritty game if that's how it plays out. I remember when we played you in the playoffs and you gameplanned to dump the puck into McDonagh's corner and just ram him with hits into his separated shoulder and the entire series it ended up being Giroux getting checked onto his ass shift after shift.

In reality I'm fully expecting the Rangers to run Ghost today. That's what retaliation has become in today's NHL. Go after the kid.

If the Rangers want to do anything McD should fight Simmonds off a faceoff.

I would have run McDonagh's bum shoulder and told Hartnell to take a minor or two by making Hank uncomfortable. Sadly, no one came close to McDonagh and Hank was able to get nice and cozy because no one got near him.

100% correct not worth it Mac probably got concussed when his head hit the ice. let's not make Simmonds out like he's mike Tyson please. Besides I'm not worried about Simmonds it's the knuckle dragger gudas that I'm concerned with.

If Simmonds pulled a Rinaldo on Letang or attacked McD unprovoked, I'd understand the anticipated retaliation. But in this case, I just don't get it. Simmonds went to make a legal hit, and McD brought his stick up and hit him in the head with it. Simmonds, after some shots and jawing, gives him a gloved shot to the face (which happens not often yet frequently) that hits McD the wrong way. And the Rangers somehow feel slighted by this turn of events. I really don't get it. I understand they don't like their player being injured; however, if he learns to take a body check without bringing his stick up, it doesn't happen.

I will say. For all the time they spend in their own end, the puck rarely winds up in the back of our net. If you watch the game on DVR do yourself a favor and fast forward their shift....nothing happens good or bad
