Bellmare-Gagner-White

Not even going to attempt picking the deffense lineup because it's just a mess back there. But this is what I'd like to see

We are only 2 points out of a top five pick, if I counted right.
- jmdodgeser4

I cetainly hope so... If you have an issue counting to two there is a big issue

EDIT:

1st Toronto
2nd Edmonton
3rd Buffalo
4th Columbus
5th Winnipeg
6th Calgary
7th Vancouver
8th Ottawa
9th Minnesota
10th Arizona
11th Montreal
12th Philadelphia

They'd only move up 3 spaces in draft if all teams below gained 2 points.

How many times has VDV been a healthy scratch this year?
I don't like the fact the Hakstol is playing favorites because he coached the guy in college.

you no the lack of respect from hockey websites for Ghost is unbelievable.. the kid sets a record is the most consistent rookie playing and no one acknowledges that this kid is doing so well TSN has nothing on their website and NHL.com has him 3/4 down the page...this kid should be in the running for the Calder but is getting no respect in the hockey news world.... with the exception of a few sites this kid who is having a top notch rookie season is being swept under the rug...

What an awful loss to the Devils yesterday. The Flyers really needed to win that game and win it in regulation. Injuries or not the Flyers are getting beaten by discipline (or lack there of), coaching systems that frustrate and put a strangle hold on the Giroux unit and in some cases - effort (like yesterday). Most people probably can't name all of the Devils no-name top 9 forwards but that didn't stop them from taking it to the Flyers consistently throughout the game.

The Flyers are basically at the point of no return and the playoffs will not happen even if they play lights out the rest of the way. There's just too many 3 point games awarded around the league on a regular basis to really make up any ground.

As much as I would love this, there is no one on the Rangers who can take Simmonds where we wouldn't be at a severe disadvantage with the ensuing penalties.

I want him to score, that would be ideal.

Artemi Panarin looks to be the leading contender for the Calder although one could argue playing on the same line with the NHL-leading scorer Patrick Kane does wonders. There's also Jack Eichel. One could also make the argument that Gostisbehere hasn't played nearly as many games and plays on one of the lowest scoring teams in the league.

Typical Blackhawks. They sign Panarin to an 850K contract, and he's got more points than any player on the Flyers team. Absurd. I don't care if he's playing on a line with Wayne Gretzky circa 1983

I still say Dylan Larkin should win it. All things equal, he's the best I've seen, excluding McJesus.

IDK what it is, but Matt Read is a much better played than VDV is. VDV couldn't crack a 60 point teams lineup in Edmonton a few years ago, yet he's a regular with the Flyers.

Larkin has been great. Panarin, Eichel, Ghost have all played great too.

If McDavid didn't get injured, he would have won the Calder easily.

They were gonna be sellers before MDZ got hurt, and there's quite a few pieces that could be worth draft picks. Gagner, Raffl, White & Medvedev are all UFAs and I doubt Gagner or Medvedev is back. Both should be worth 3rd or 4th rounders at the TDL. If they decide to move White, he's probably worth a 3rd. Raffl might be worth more.

In terms of guys who have term left, I think Nick Schultz might get a decent return. We shred him, but he's a steady third pair guy and teams have been paying 3rd or even 2nd rounders on those the last 4-5 deadlines. Plus the contract is manageable next year. Read might also be moveable for a decent pick-although Flyers probably have to take a contract back

Streit probably had some value, but his big cap hit next season, combined with his mediocre play since returning from injury really muddies the water in terms of his tradeability.

- Jsaquella

The more I think about Neuvirth, the more I would like to see them move him. He's a very attractive piece. With the cap going down next season, it would be a good idea for a goalie needy team to trade for him. He would help the playoff run this year and be signed as, at worst, a 1B for next season.

I just don't think his value will ever be higher than right now and I don't see him being part of the future. They shouldn't make the same mistake they did with Schultz last season.

There is that. Personally I think what's he's doing is the most impressive of anyone. Points aren't the only thing to consider in the Calder race. I think it's a three horse race between Ghost, Larkin and Panarin. I'd giving Larkin the slightest of edges probably.

I'd dangle him for a 1st and see if anyone bites. I'd happily take two 2nds or a 2nd and 3rd as well.

Hell, I'd take that 2nd and 3rd and buy off a team to take AMac with them.
