I'm sure Glass will challenge him, but considering the Flyers have like 5 good players, it would be stupid for Simmonds to take himself out of the game.

It is unbelievable to me that anyone ignores that aspect of what happened. I honestly don't get people anymore. You talk to some folks, you'd think the only thing they learned in school was the definition of reaction and they skipped school the day they went over "provocation"

It's not a sucker punch when you provoke the confrontation because you cross-checked the guy in the head. Just because you weren't prepared to handle the response doesn't mean you didn't know it was coming

The funniest outcome would be Vigneault starts Glass's line against Simmer's....and Simmonds laughs at him, declines, then scores the first goal of the game right away.

it was clearly a sucker punch. McGlassjaw wasn't look right at him in a shoving match. He totally was blindsided by the iron fist of Simmonds from behind then suplexed to the ground.

Better if glass gets a penalty and simmer gets the ensuing PP goal

Rangers fans would be irate

the aspect I don't like is seeing kids go from entry level contracts to big contracts.
- nastyflyergirl

Seeing as players' effective peaks are in their mid-20's, I think those fatter second contracts are probably fair for the most part.

Those subsequent contracts, where guys gets paid into their late-20's and 30's for stuff they did in those mid-20's peak years are what I would like to see less of.

I just think there is something to be said for bridge contracts. Kids go from 950K to 5-6 million a year. its crazy. it makes it hard to keep your own talent which is a shame

What's your opinion on guys getting paid into their late 20s and 30s for stuff they didn't even do in those mid-20s peak years?

They are rfas. Only the best players make a jump that high and it's because the team is trying to buy down some money in the future like what Florida did with Barkov. Most players receive bridge deals until they are around 23-25

Watching the Calgary game, I think the announcer just said, "You can't play poopty hockey."

Flyers commentators should say that more.
