It is mind-numbing and boggling how blowhard some NHL analysts and mainly Canadians ones are about anointing McDavid the next Crosby and Gretzky after 20 games when he has already missed 34.

Also, how far they think the gap is between McDavid and Eichel, Larkin, Domi, Reinhart, etc. Not nearly as wide as they think.

Gare Joyce even said that he thinks every GM would take McDavid instead of having BOTH Eichel & Larkin on their team.

Just... f*ck off

There is a reason every analyist is stating that. Anyone who watches McDavid play, can see there is a big gap between him and the players you listed.

McDavid missing 34 games has nothing to do with his skill level that separates him from the rest.

JUST got back in the house. Sounds like I'm watching a replay.

Garth actually posts a pretty interesting stat. The Sabres top scorers, ROR Jack Rhino; Kane; McGinn combine for 76 of the Sabres total 131 goals. All Murray acquisitions.

Of course Murray also signed Moulson, and Gionta and Lehner. But did he really get Gionta for scoring? And as bad as Lehner looked for two games, he's been unreal in many others.

I can't wait for TDL.

(I still say pass on Stamkos and pry loose a LHD then draft a Finn winger.)

Ideally, you target and then trade all the non-essential personal on the roster by the deadline to clear space, which also helps the team get closer to a top 5 pick, and then try and make a serious run at Stamkos in FA.

Your fall back plan is your top 5 pick + ?

The home run is the top 5 pick and Stamkos.

I say offer sheet Morgan Rielly at 6x5.4. True top pair LHD at 21 yrs old, and if Tronna doesn't match (comp = 1st & 3D) you have a better acquisition than a first Rounder would get you.

Or take away a bit of their Stamkos $.

Im guessing MLSE out of pride matches any offer sheet no matter how high, they've got a boat load of cap too (probably on a count of having almost nobody worthwhile on their roster) so it really isn't worth TM's time.

A buddy of mine who has had decent info before told me that they are "100%" going after Stamkos and that that's been the plan for over a year
- sbroads24

Of course they are, that's not breaking news, they tried to trade for him at/before the draft and went as far as a formal deal on the table. It was reported a few different places. And to add wild speculation that I read, but don't necessarily consider it a lead-pipe lock, a deal was agreed to in principle before Yzerman shut it down. Or maybe a better way of saying it is it was the best deal on the table and Yzerman decided, I think rightly, to try and sign him. Tampa is a win now-ish team, they can't afford to lose their best player.

I'd love to have him, I'm just not sure how it all works in the end. Money wise and position/ice time. But that's why Murray gets paid the big bucks. To figure all that poop out.

Edit: Typo.

The Sabres are winning 3-1. There is no reason to complain about anything right now.

Don't bother. I've tried, Goose has tried, others have tried. It's not worth it. Haters gonna hate.

It is the worst. They play dubstep music. Got rid of the video's they use to play to get the crowd pumped up and just an overall terrible experience. You'd think you were in a Euro club.

Lenny Kravitz is huge in Germany, well he was 12 years ago... lol But seriously, every bar/club I went to there at least 2 of his songs came on. They really like their metal too. Really heavy stuff, not like pop Metallica, even in regular bars, which was fine with me, but still struck me as odd. Some clubs' downstairs was the "metal room". The other funny thing is Budweiser was like 14 euro a bottle. I really don't remember any techno/house/dance music. Maybe they just don't listen to that stuff in Frankfurt, Nuremberg or Munich. Also, they went absolutely bonkers for this stuff. Even in the non-tourist areas/tiny villages where my family lives, so it's not just a joke they play on foreigners.

It's not as bad as it sounds. That guy also makes it backwards to everywhere else I had it. They pour the beer first then add the coke, because the coke fizzes so much more than the beer, adding the beer after makes the coke go flat.

Since when is 20 goals chump change? There's tons of guys that make way more $ and provide less, McGinn is def worth somewhere between $3-4M.

You can't have a team filled with Stamkos type players and I for one don't want a $10M contract on our books, not when we haven't won anything yet.

- nikel

1) never said 20goals was chump change
2) McGinn hasn't, and will NOT, score 20goals- ever
-he's not gonna continue to get this type of ice time, with the quality of players we have
3) even if we don't sign Stamkos (or Ladd, or whoever), we're probably drafting a winger this year that will move ahead of him on the depth chart immediately
4) I don't want him holding up guys like Bailey, Fasching, etc
5) we have MANY "top9 potential prospects, many of whom play the same style as Mcginn
6) there are guys on the roster even now who play that same style

And...
Stamkos at even 12mil per is still >>> over McGinn
Ovechkin is the only better scorer in the league.
He's really that good.
Look at who he's playing with...
Tampa will STRUGGLE next year without him. When the Triplets are the constant focus of other teams top pair & defensive forwards they will have a really rough time scoring.

I don't hate McGinn, he's a solid player...
But there are plenty of guys similar to him
And I just don't see him as part of the LONG TERM plan here

Adding "mixers" to beer really isn't all that new
(Beer with OJ, for example, has been around since well before my time)
And beer cocktails are starting to regain popularity here in the U.S., especially with Craft beers & unique ingredients... Herbs, egg whites, sauces & syrups, etc

(I'm a bartender)

Btw, that does taste pretty good, but I've always done a ratio that was closer to 80% beer (or more). Anything more & I think u lose too much of the "beer" quality of the drink

Try a Bloody Mary with beer!
* not all styles will work though, and you'll have to play around a little with the amount of each Bloody ingredient u use.
Best to do it with a pitcher, easier to add more beer, hot sauce, etc to get it to your liking
