No, the hockeybuzz way is to make a statement, and use any/all means necessary to stand your ground and/or change the point of the debate until you find something that sticks.

Great scouting by the way. Foligno can play. Nice cheapshot artist player in Gudas by the way. He should have been penalized instead of Foligno for sticking his leg out! What a bunch of homer officiating last night in Philly. Was totally ridiculous.

Gudas didn't knee the guy. The sabre knew he was kined up, sensed it, then tried to juke around Gudas. Didn't work. Kneeing is not the same as a player jumping into it because he tried to not get leveled.

Second hit on what's his name was terrible. I'd like to see 5 games.

Oh, and Eichel is challenging Malkkn for the ugliest dude in the league.

If Olli Jokinen and Scott Hartnell had an improbable love child, I imagine the kid would look like Jack Eichel.

I have a feeling that rinaldo and MJL are the same person, kind of like a Jekyll and Hyde thing.

There is no way Simmonds backs down from that fight though
- funmaster18

Nor do I want him to. Is it a good trade off? Nope. But sometimes its exactly what a team needs. He wont back down, and the players will work their asses off for him.

Also, this game has fireworks written all over it. Wouldnt mind seeing Morin brought up if there is a suspension for Gudas..

You mean don't hit someone who is lunging on one knee? Gimme a break buddy. If your teammate got hit like that, you'd be furious.

I posted this last night. Still relevant:

You can't call a penalty for a hard check. This isn't high school. Lots of times, those kinds of open ice hits are those Kronwallish ones, where the defenseman catches a streaking player with the puck with his head down. Those are good hits, provided we keep our elbows down etc. If you're carrying a puck, there are certain situations where you should expect to be hit (or at least, expect to be lined up) if you're coming through the neutral zone.

But those blindside hits on suicide passes or these kinds are the ones that I think are completely on the D for throwing the hit.

Again- I only saw one replay because of my freezing feed, but this dude was very close to being on one knee while lunging towards the puck while being rubbed off by one our players. If memory serves me right, the puck wasn't even entirely in his possession at the time. He was well entrenched in the process of being inevitably separated from it.

Why is Gudas throwing that hit. The guy's head was so low Gudas hit it with his hip. That, along with being straight blindsided, is the textbook definition of defenseless.

My opinion on the 2nd Gudas hit.

Was it needed.....I guess not.

If he toe drags him because he doesn't hit him and scores who do we blame?

Are the Sabres going to stop playing because it is 5-1?

The reason the hit looks bad is because the player starts to hunch over looking for the puck.

I always grew up that you play till the end. I know it's cliché but it's not like the Sabres were going to stop hitting becaue they were down 5-1. If that hit was Bogosian on Weal, people would be saying it was a leader trying to show his young team not to quit.

My opinion is the hit looked worse then what it was.

OK, I thought Gudas had time to target a different part of the body besides the head. What did you think?
- FlyersGrace

I think he went through the entire body.

Arm tucked: check
Doesnt propel himself into the head: check
Doesnt leave his feet: check
Didnt charge him: check

Its a hard- very hard- hit. The guy got caught in an awkward position when Gudas threw the hit. Idk..
