Like it or not, I think he truly thinks that this team is a playoff contender and that it is more important to keep pushing for that goal then trying to position the team for next year and beyond.

I agree with this. At least he's indicated he's looking to make moves. As long as it's for players under 26 or picks, were heading in the right direction.

As for him saying this team is good... I'm thinking this is again politics and he's just sticking to his guns.
