He said he would eat salary for anyone that offered any value. So I thinks it's safe to assume he wasn't offered a draft pick

Also, why would he be concerned about helping NAS? Presumably if we were dumping a player not good enough for our 4th line I doubt he would be concerned with Higgins helping a team make the playoffs

- CanuckDon

I agree with everything you said which is why I find it surprising that he wouldn't of accepted that deal if it had in fact been offered, it is essentially a free pick.

1040 is pretty garbage but generally don't outright make up things that they report.

Maybe because it wasn't offered, don't believe anything 1040 says.

Ask yourself this question, if Nashville wanted Higgins they could of claimed him off waivers and then put Nystrom on waivers and save the pick.

Rumour sites are not news and definitely not the media. I understand your dislike of TSN but they are only reporting to their market, everything outside of Toronto and Ont are just secondary markets. All broadcasters in this country target the big market first.

Without opening it, take a wild guess what team the #1 prospect belongs to...

I don't really get caught up with personality conflicts, but the way you went off about Dreger and then the snickers comment, I thought it was funny.

Have you seen their commercials about "eat a snickers you're not yourself".

Marwood is a good guy, and he's just playing you like A_SL would, it's all harmless.

Where do you think they are getting the news from?

You'll read something on a rumour site that was copy/paste from TSN, then it's ok I guess. You do realize this site is eastern based and biast towards the Flyers?

I mean the rankings arent indefensible, just seem to have a particular focus on prospects from the Toronto organization as well as the Greater Toronto Area...

If you're Craig Button you realize the best way to keep your fake job is to coddle the local crowd.

I am not sure how Hartman from Chicago made the list as a 21 year old AHLer with 14 points in 40 games when Shink is the same age and has 18 goals in the same amount of games...

IMO I'd have Shea Theodore in the top 5

Chi needed to be on the list, Button does it like the allstar game, at least 1 from each team.

Same, I realize there is a bit of balancing untapped potential, age, etc. but Theodore looks to be a lock as a top pairing defenseman. More so than most players on that list

I agree totally, but is that TSN or Button? or are they 1 in the same?

He was once a GM in the NHL, but upon his firing TSN sent him up-state to a nice farm and absorbed his persona for their propaganda machine

Paraphrasing Benning on the radio.

Wants to be a buyer come deadline.

Confirmed no one has asked about Hamhuis.

Thinks Vrbata has just been snakebit all season and think teams are always looking for scorers.

Hasn't talked to Hamhuis about the possibility of waiving and thinks he is very important to this team now.

Shinkaruk needs to learn little things before he makes NHL, board play, protecting the puck.

Gaunce needs to become a more consistant scorer but has the rest of his game down.

Thinks Demko is the real deal and will be their future go to guy.

Benning said on the 1040 a few minutes ago , he wants to be a buyer at TDL.

He has taken too many pucks to the head when he played. Ya know.

Purely posturing. No sane person would consider buying at the trade deadline with this roster.

He's going to be buying 1st and 2nd round picks.
