I am pretty sure they had no interest in Cowen. If they weren't going to hold salary they were going to have to take salary back. I believe I heard that they were taking back 11 mill in salary while sending out 33 mill. They also get a good prospect and 2nd rounder. Not bad at all.

Leafs are going to overspend in FA and are going to suck still.

Spending big in FA rarely works.

Just came here to say what a blessing it is that the leafs acquired Cowen before Tim Murray could.

We won this trade folks.

- Sabresfan-365

I almost came here a few days ago trying to make a point on how Cowen might be a better option than Weber, because I've made it a hobby of mine to find a better replacement. Look at their WARRIOR charts. It's not even close. Cowen is (frank)ing awful.

Unless his name is Stamko(s), I highly doubt it.

Who cares? screw the Senators, screw the Canadians, Screw the Flyers and the Hurricanes and the Penguins, And especially screw the Bruins and the Leafs. I'll take digs at all of those teams any day.

This group seems to know what they are doing. If you're going to overspend i suppose stamkos makes sense. They hype alone will be nuts

They have to make a LOT more moves than Stamkos to get anywhere. Tampa has had him for a while, has had a better roster for years, and THEY can't win it all. What the heck would Toronto be able to do?

Yes, they currently suck, they are still going to suck after FA.

That has no bearing on the Sabres place in the standings.

I'd bet that you (and me, and most others) also dislike giving everyone a trophy for participating, and not having a winner.

The true values that competition should bring out are somewhere in the middle. I personally like Cam's disgust at losing, similar to ROR sitting at his locker stall an hourafter being eliminated from the playoffs, in his uniform, totally despondent. Losing hurts. If it doesn't then something is wrong.

Nylander and Marner coming through as well. 2 first rounders this year. They'll be fine.

Root, root root for the penguins!!!

Still not sure that team compares to Tampa though...but they'll have 7 years to figure it out.

If losing hurts him so much why didn't sell out for that fumble instead of letting Denver recover it because he was scared he might get hurt?

Simple. Losing hurts, but not as bad as a broken arm does.

Players i want on my team would trade a broken arm for a chance to play for the title, let alone win one. Bergeron and campbell come to mind for the bruins.

Still like cam though, i would imagine he gets another shot somwhere in his career.
