You think they are trading both Hedman and Stammer within the division?

I wouldnt mind taking a run at Ladd and Trouba. The fact that Trouba is asking for 7 million and he has done nothing is kind of mind blowing.

I know he is a young prospect but jesus.

Ladd is a lesser version of Eriksson. He is also a UFA and is asking for $6 for 6 years.

If we are not giving Loui the money no way we should give Ladd the money.

100% in on Trouba OR Myers. Wish we used Reily Smith a couple seasons ago for him.

Even if they traded in the division, it is possibly the worst trade suggestions I've ever heard. Who would ever make those trades to Boston. A 4th for Yandle?

Agreed- pick Marchy or Eriksson. As much as I like Loui and how he's played this year, they need to allocate those dollars to investing in a top 2 defenceman a guy they can shape their blueline around for the next 6-8 years. Krug isn't it. The kids coming along that have played this year (and have played reasonably well) are good fillers for slots 5,6 and 7. We need to invest in a top defenceman...Loui can be replaced by others in the organization and others like Connolly, Hayes, Belesey, Pastrnak need to pick up the slack up front... but they need the opportunity to play in the top 6 on a consistent basis.

What tells you that Krug isn't it? What has Krug done to show that he can't play a large role on the Bruins blue line for the next 6-8 years? Krug is probably the Bruins best all around defender right now... and yet he gets zero credit. How many times have you said "C'mon Krug, that was a terrible play!" Like... never... basically.

He's averaging the 2nd most minutes of any Bruin behind only Chara...

I'm not saying he would be a great #1 option, but I think he can be a HUGE part of the Bruins blue line for the next several years. If it wasn't for his size, he could easily be a #1... but he's great 2nd pairing defender (could even be a great #2), and a monster on the PP.

Krug is legit, and should start getting the credit he deserves.

You know what the problem is, Krug can only do one of two things, Score or defend. He may be a decent defenseman this year, however he has slacked on his point production. If Boston had a better D-Core he would be more focused on scoring. When we does shoot, he misses the net 9/10 times. Hence his lowest goal totals in his career. This is my thought process anyways. Boston needs to get more offensive upside from him. Although this may mean they can lock him up at a reduced salery because he isn't hitting 40 points this year...

not only are these proposals realistic in principal, they are likely to occur before and on deadline day.

Yep. Krug is legit. Love him as a 2nd pairing/PP specialist. His offensive numbers would probably be higher this year if he had a talented, physical, R-shot D-partner...maybe like a Boychuk type of guy. Too bad we can't get players like that.

I never said Krug couldn't play a role... but he's NOT a #1 or #2 that you'd build your team around. His shots are quite often inaccurate and he is a bit of a liability defensively because of his lack of size. He's fine as a #3 or #4 if given the right defence partner with some size and defensive ability to let him skate and rush the puck. As far as rushing the puck and making outlet passes- Krug is their best defenceman, agreed...but he's NOT a #1 or #2 d-man and never will be. He just doesn't have all the tools.
