Of all the cities for this to happen I'd say it's right up there with Boston in being a racist bunch of hooligans. McCoy really F'd up. Not only did he participate in a vicious crime but also did it in one of the most barbaric cities in America...

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --Sources tell Action News that former Eagles player and current Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy is under investigation after two off-duty Philadelphia police officers were assaulted and seriously injured.

Philadelphia police haven't formally identified McCoy as a suspect, but in a statement issued Monday said four suspects were involved and they are "reported to be members of the National Football League."

It allegedly happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday at the Recess Lounge located at 125 South 2nd Street in Old City.

Philadelphia police said on Monday afternoon there was an argument over a bottle of champagne.

A source gave Action News more details, saying the police officers had ordered multiple bottles of champagne and, according to witness accounts, one of the men with McCoy grabbed a bottle out of one of the cop's hands.

That led to an argument, police said, and one of the police officers was punched and knocked to the ground.

While on the ground, Philadelphia police say that officer was punched, kicked and stomped on his body and head multiple times by all four suspects.

The second officer, along with security guards, went to break it up, and everyone involved was then ejected from the club.

The first officer drove himself to the hospital, where he was found to be suffering from broken ribs, a broken nose, a laceration to his right eye and a sprained thumb, police said.

The second officer was also admitted to the hospital, where he received stitches over his right eye and is being treated for a possible skull fracture.

Police say surveillance video showed the ejection from the club, but there is no video of the actual incident.

The four suspects were identified through photographs by the two officers and the security guards.

McCoy's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined to comment when contacted by Action News.

The Buffalo Bills put out a statement Monday that reads:

"We are aware of the reports regarding LeSean McCoy and are in the process of gathering more information. We will not provide any further comment at this time."

Agreed. Not sticking up for the guy. Even if he was there and didn't throw any punches still shouldn't have been in that situation. But I think it's going to be magnified by being in a city of idiots like Philadelphia.

I get rattled with those sort of changes, when you have a drunk after bar routine, they cant go changing hours on you.

There was this kabob place right next to my condo, was my go to for grabbing something late all the time, now they dont open on the weekends, just do lunch hours.

They are dead to me now

Last call is 4am there (though it sounds like that's being threatened now).

Even when we worked til 4am (I was an employee at said sub shop), we had some bars we'd go to after work for a few drinks.

This is where I have a problem with people saying that McCoy and his 3 other buddies will not get fair treatment when it comes to this.

The way I see it, they were off duty and certainly not in uniform.

They are fair game to this sort of situation just as much as you and I !

With multiple bottles of champagne they were clearly intoxicated or well on their way.

Perhaps one of them began this whole altercation, we don't know?

Me, growing up with and knowing many Buffalo cops that still love their own party time even being cops, they can be just as obnoxious when out and getting intoxicated.
Perhaps...perhaps even more so if I want to be brutally honest here, just because they are police officers.

I have an issue with them saying it's off duty police officers. What does their occupation have to do with it? If I got into some sort of altercation like this, I would just be considered a patron of the establishment it happened at. Not an off duty bank employee. I know it sounds stupid, but them not being at work is no different than it is for me to not be at work. We're both just citizens of US out at a club/bar having a good time. Period.
