As far as Panarin being older than the rest of the field, it's a non issue. The rule on age says what it says. Makarov winning it when he came over from the Red Army set the precedent.

It's no accident that Kane has the scoring lead as he now has both a center (Anisimov) and a left wing (Panarin) that can create space for him and score as well. It's probably the best line in hockey, draws the best defensive pairings and the checking line. And they still score most every game.

The NHL is a copy cat league, this line has set the tone for what we as fans will see on other teams. The draft will reflect players like Kane and Panarin(size wise) going early instead of the 6'3" power forward. I for one embrace this, as we'll see hockey the way is was to be played. Speed, playmaking, and puck movement will dominate the style, instead of dump and chase, dead puck clutch and grab.

I know some people think it's annoying to see the same teams in the Cup finals year after year, but the fact that the Hawks have been as dominant as they have is very impressive when you take into consideration there's a salary cap in place.

Bowman has done an absolutely incredible job of managing the roster to that team.

- HonkFortheGoose

Annoying only if your team isn't managed as well as the contenders. The whole point of the league is competition. Inherent to that is winners and losers, otherwise everybody gets the cup and there is no point in playing the game.

I, for one, totally wish this to be true but watching the lack of penalties being called, especially on obvious instances of obstruction, leads me to believe otherwise.

He didn't have either of them last year and was top in the league in points when he broke his collarbone. His numbers have increased this year, but I don't know that you can say that getting Anisimov and Panarin are really the reason. I think he's really just that good.

I don't know who the people are that enjoy watching cycling in the offensive zone, but wow is it boring to see that over, and over, and over again.

ain't gonna be easy to lure a free agent and although the group is good, it isn't super strong
- Michael Pachla

Oh it wil have to be theough a trade or two. Trades that the ham n egger fans wont like where their jersey fantasies are suddenly playing elsewhere. Recent free agent D aquisitions like Fayne, Nikitin and Ferrence have been disastrous for us.

I think his level of play is a personal vendetta against the league and NHL fans. So many were convinced Kane was 100% guilty and threw his name to the curb. Hell even Blackhawk fans said trade him. He had a lot to prove this year, especially naysayers who said this legal issue would absolutely impact his play and mental state as a possible distraction. Before this year he still was a top player but I think he's playing angry. Kinda like Tom Brady this year after deflate gate. Brady looked like a mad man this year bc he had to shut the haters up. Patty Kane has certainly done that so far.

I think that may have something to do with it too. Good for him. Not a huge fan of him as a person, but he's a hell of a hockey player and I enjoy watching him play. It just as easily could have had the opposite affect as well, being that he said he didn't get to workout/practice as much during that final month or so of the offseason because of everything going on. Maybe that was a good thing though. Perhaps with the long post season run and everything, not getting to workout as much before camp may have allowed his body to really recover and come into the season really fresh.

Eberle to Anaheim for Fowler. (Add on either side)
RNH to Minnesota for Brodin (Add on either side)

That is what I would try to work with.

With all due respect, if you were to watch all the Hawk games, one could argue that Kane is having his best year Partly BECASUE of Panarin. The kid is crazy talented.

Nobody is saying he's not talented. But have you gotten to see much of Larkin, Eichel, or Domi? They are all also crazy talented. Larkin has gotten time with Zetterberg this year, but in general, none of those 3 are getting to play with linemates even remotely close to being as talented as Kane is.

meh, no worries...larkin's a helluva player...really love his game
- Michael Pachla

wasnt the rumor that murray was trying to package up our 3 second rounders a few years ago to move back into the first and take larkin? if it wasnt ill just start it here just because. pretty sure that murray was trying to move myers to detroit for larkin as well, although detroit said no larkin and no mantha (looks like they were at least half right).

And around here, that's enough for someone to bite. We had the religion thing occur the other day. Don't need politics to rear their ugly head now too.

Nothing wrong with either. Still think they need a Brouwer type or two in the top 6.

remember how bad they were for a long, long, time?
- Michael Pachla

True, but of all those high draft picks only Toews and Kane have worked out. The other core members should be attributed to quality scouting:

Seabrook - 14th overall
Keith - 2nd round
Crawford - 2nd round
Hammer - 5th round
Shaw - 5th round
Hossa - FA
