I didn't. I worked at 12 shift yesterday. Wasn't gonna read through 25 pages of hockey, some if it being garbage. I'm actually asking. Because when the Flyers play like that. It's embraced by the city and the fans. Which is fine. But how can you be mad when other teams play like that against the flyers. I just don't understand.

Well, I worked a 20 hour shift yesterday, and McDonough actually came into my work during the game, after the incident. I asked him if he was concussed, and he winked at me and said, "maybe." That's how I knew he was a little faker piece of poop. I then asked him why he went after Simmonds' head, and he said, "Sometimes I want to be dirty, like them." And then he winked at me again. At this point, I became uncomfortable, and asked him to leave. He looked me in the eyes and let the small dog that was with him pee on the floor, and then left, but not before blowing a kiss and saying, "See you soon."

So my question to Rangers fans is, is this the captain you want to represent your team?

Simmonds is a good player to have, but like Lucic, they can both dish it out but they can't take it. If somebody hits them, they usually wind up flipping out and taking stupid penalties. Simmonds should have gotten more for throwing the stick at the ref, but by that time the ref knew even he was in too deep.

As long as you admit McDonagh should have gotten more for the cross check but nothing for a phantom dive I have no issue saying Simmonds should have gotten an additional minor for breaking his stick and throwing it across the ice.

Except you are leaving out the part of the video where they mention he hit an unsuspecting and engaged player which is what resulted in the suspension.

Also its easy to find clips of players being suspended for exactly the cross check that was thrown.

I can't believe all Rangers fans are ok with this kind of behavior. Just sickening.

Have you actually read the majority of the posts that say both players did it wrong but the refs did it worse?

It's a pretty simple play.....McDonough brought his stick up and cross checked Simmonds in the Head....Simmonds punched him in the face when McDonough lipped off to him.....apparently he caught him square and he went down....Bad call by refs regardless.....No further discipline for Simmonds, which is justified, and hopefully Mcdonough's not to seriously hurt......in the end can't wait for the next meeting.

Connauton received at 2 minor for slashing on the play, then Lucic punches in the face with his glove on. Lucic reciveing a game misconduct.

Mcdonagh revives 4 minutes on the play with Simmonds. Simmonds punches Mcdonagh in the face with his glove. Simmonds gets a match penalty.

The actual actor in those infomercials was arrest for drugs and solicitation a while back.

Did both Connauton and Mdonagh commit original infraction on the play? Yes

Did both Simmonds and Lucic through punches with gloves to face or the player that commited the original infraction? Yes

Both Simmonds and Lucic were through out of the games they were playing in, yes.

Sorry if I misunderstood. From the boxscore I read McDonagh was called for a cross-check (another box says high-sticking) and a slash, no embellishment was called.

It's hockey for christs sakes....it's a tough game...tempers flare....I'm fine with McDonough's play...it's a fast game with split second decisions...and I'm totally fine with Simmonds response.

The thing I don't get about McD cross check that everyone keeps leaving out is he put his stick in front of him bc Simmons turned around to take a late run at him. I don't think McD aimed for Simmonds head, he's not that type of player and punching an unsuspecting guy in the right spot is extremely dangerous. That punch was a lot harder than most are making it out to be. McD stick is chest height, Simmonds comes in and turns his body and ducks his head right before the hit that's y contact was made with the head. One of the videos posted at 1:22 you can see it.

You didn't actually watch the video you posted did you?

At :48 seconds they talk about hitting an engaged and unsuspecting oppenent.
At 1:50 they list why he was suspended for 1 game and the reasons given are
1. Hitting an unsuspecting opponent
2. History
3. No injury

No where in that clip is a glove mentioned .
