leaving all that Flyer-Ranger stuff behind now, one thing that was huge yesterday, in the absence of Ryan McDonagh, Keith Yandle stepped up enormously.

he was fantastic, truly, even beyond the goal, he was easily the best Ranger all day. Most minutes on the team at 27:33

He is a really really good player. And, it should make people realize finally that it's not Yandle "being used wrong" that he doesn't play enough to satisfy much of the Ranger fanbbase, it's that Yandle and McDonagh are both left side top pairing defensemen, and AV feels better going with McDonagh in every key situation.

That's it, bottom line. McDonagh is the reason Yandle is underutilized, and Yandle really showed yesterday that he can step up and take over when he needed.

He was marvelous.

That tying goal was a pretty awesome shot by Yandle.

Should up his trade value come the deadline, haha.

In all seriousness, if the Rangers are firmly in a playoff spot by the deadline, I am not so sure they move Yandle. Unless they get an unreal offer for Yandle he might stay here through Feb. 29th. If he does, Gorton has to move heaven and earth to keep him here. Simply can't lose him for nothing this summer.

didn't that happen recently in football, the Steelers-Bengals where the Bengals accused a player of faking a concussion and he actually had a serious concussion?

accusing McDonagh of faking a concussion in this era of the lawsuit and people suffering long term problems is definitely something I would expect from the Flyers organization.

Don't think the Rangers would take a chance on having play if he was a bit wonky after that sucker punch.

Concussion injuries are tricky and hard to gauge. Don't want to take a chance of further injuring their second most important player.

He out 13 shots towards the net, four of which made it to the target. Was on ice seemingly all the time. Controlled play when he was on the ice.

I think I am going to put a header on my blogs saying: "Blog Held Hostage by Keith Yandle Trade Rumors Day xx." So tired of this talk. You guys know my view, keep Yandle and whatever happens after the season, happens. Don't move him so you can recoup assets, he is too valuable right now to do that.

then you know what, they need to sign him to an extension before the trade deadline, put this to rest and worry about the cap implications this summer.

Tired of talking about it but it's the huge elephant in the room. His contract status is intregal to which direction this team is headed.

At this point, I am ok with them moving Nash at the draft to ensure cap space for Yandle. Yandle seems to be the type of talent that can solidify this defense through the changes of personnel, others declining, etc.

This what's drawing my ire the most, Flyers fans turning Mac into the aggressor as well, like he circled back throw a late hit

Has anyone seen this image? If McDonough is defending himself, why is are his arms fully extended towards Simmonds' head?

Honestly, each should get a game and call it a day.

He had so much more value last offseason, they should've done it then but yeah moving Nash with the cap situation is a smart move

I don't know, if contenders were watching yesterday, I definitely see a few teams thinking Yandle would be the last piece of their puzzle.

Nope, don't really care what happened to him, and I don't know why the Rangers would hold out their best player if he wasn't injured. But it seems like both guys were idiots here, in my opinion.

Yea, I am all set on Nash. Clearing out that 7.8 million dollar would go a long way in keeping Yandle here.

Nash's NMC clause has expired and he can be moved to the select group he has submitted to Rangers management.

My Cousin Vinny reference but seriously there's nothing there other than McDonagh defending himself, Simmonds came at him

Interesting way of defending himself then, following through with his stick to Simmonds' head.

he got 4 minutes, no complaints. They were deserved.
