Smarts is the most important hockey attribute. It's why I've widely advocated the Flyers draft the next Doogie Howser over Julien Gauthier.

He had a ton thrown on his play his first 2 years, it's been rough to not have that on him this year.

Haven't watched too much this year, I'd imagine it's a combo of him not playing as well as he could plus maybe the coaching staff not challenging him enough to get the best from him.

they blackout all nationally televised games, including the playoffs. That means you can't stream them at all. It's like I'm going back to 1955 and will have to DVR the games and stay off the computer, then run home like a (frank)ing maniac and watch the game, pissing my family off the whole time. yeah, great.

I really view the Penguins to be in Holmgren mode. I like Paul Holmgren but why would they trade James Neal just to acquire Phil Kessel? I hate Neal and everything Penguins but identify your core.

In my opinion, we can grow around Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds, Schenn, Couturier and Mason. Unless we're getting an undeniable player in return, these guys should be safe. Just my thoughts, not yours.
