Lehner's been outstanding, but goalies have been known to do this. Go hot for a while then disappear of the face of the earth. Lehner's main issue throughout his career has been consistency. He's played well, but im not prepared to change my mind on him or the trade based on a few games.

It does sound like some people here are starting to kick the tires on a possible playoff run. With 31 games left, it's definitely not impossible, and would be really nice to see this team build some solid chemistry and go a tear. I'm just afraid of the dreaded race to 9th place and picking a guy who will be 2-3 years away instead of one of the ready now guys at the top of the draft. What does everyone else say, do you want to see the team put together a playoff run or stay the course with the tank?

I'm not one to beat (beet) that drum... I'd rather see another top 5 draft pick this year. But I still want them to continue to improve at the same time.

Just looked at march. That's a lot of winnable games.

I don't think he ever just handed over #21, but I'm not sure just how much back and forth went into the negotiation either. Maybe, the price was firm, but with Ottawa having 3 solid goalies and most of the other available goalies having already been moved. I don't think Ottawa had much of a market left to deal Lehner from a position of strength.

The only thing we know is that we don't know. There's a chance EDM, CAR, SJS or others were in on him.

I'm torn. For me it's like this, we're 6 points behind Montreal, Ottawa, and Philly. So to get to a point where we want to get close to the playoffs I say we have to pass those 3 teams first. If we do that then I say let's think about playoffs. If come the 28th and we're not ahead of them, then sell the UFAs and go for the pick.

what's ironic is he has a 2.22 gaa and .938 save% with a losing record

speedy wingers that can finish should be the offseason goal

and 1 legit top 4 d man

Yes, we may never know, but like I mentioned, didn't Edmonton and Carolina already make their deals for Talbot and (I forget, the goalie from Van) to solve their goalie issues by the time Buffalo and Ottawa struck the Lehner trade?

I too was wondering where Keller came from.

If I were the GM, I would sell at the deadline this year almost no matter, as this year is far from the long term goal.

be shocked if murray takes a 5'10" guy with our pick. its probably a safe bet that keller and nylander wont be bpa on murrays board.

I pass by 2 mighty taco places on the way too and from work. I will be stopping in one on the way home.

Super mightys , beer and a Sabres/Bruins game. What a great Turdsday.

- cabin

Awesome! Any combination of those three will lead to time on the potty tomorrow, but enjoy today while you can.

This will be the first game I am table to watch in the last 4, so I'm going hot dogs, homemade tempura veggies (not as gross as it sounds), red wine and maybe a lap dance from my wife at intermission.

Ok, at least one of these is not happening.
