Screw his stats... have you watched him play at all this year?!?!

He could score 50 goals, but if he can't get back to play defense then what good is he? I would argue that he's scoring more BECAUSE OF his decline in play... instead of looking to make a play with the puck he just throws it towards the net... Yes, it's working for him, but you can't just look at his offensive numbers and think he's still a great player.

I'm just so sick of everyone trying to find someone else to blame and giving Chara a free pass... Literally all anyone wants to do is bash Kevan Miller, or Colin Miller, or Zach Trotman... It's a (frank)ing joke. Kevan Miller will get better, Colin Miller will get much better, Trotman will get better... Chara is sinking to the bottom of the ocean with cinderblocks tied to his legs... he's not getting any better... he's getting exponentially worse... but he's 7 feet tall and used to be the best defender so he's our guy!

The team isn't going to get any better with Chara being our #1... we'll only get worse and worse.... so yes, get him out of here and I'll be happy.

I don't trust your eyeball test for Chara's "implosion" because I'm not convinced you can even see what I'm saying here. WE AGREE HE'S IN DECLINE. I just think his decline isn't as steep as you do.

Also, I hate to break it to you but Kevan Miller pushing 30. He isn't a prospect and he isn't gonna get any better. He is what he is at this point.

dude Chara is just doing his job what do you want him to quit? ask to be traded to foster growth?

and i hate to break it to you, Trotman, Miller and Morrow might not be any good. like, ever. they're 23 and 24 years old. time to start clicking. and developing and growing is done in the AHL.

Really all I would like is for Chara to play like 20 minutes a night, not play on the PP, and not pinch... ever... Give Krug more minutes, because he's done nothing to show that he can't handle it... and live with the mistakes of the younger guys and allow them to grow. Don't count on Chara to play the most minutes in every situation, because he simply can't handle it anymore.

and you know that Seabass was actually a homo rapist in the Dumb and Dumber movie right?

You know it's a movie right? How does that have anything to do with what we're talking about? In all seriousness... that's a pretty lame statement

I think the value of Chris Kelly is overstated, I dont miss him at all.

On another note, would be nice if Hayes played as big as he is, he's like the Hal Gill of forwards, no one fears this team, like they did with looch skating around like a maniac.

Yeah, I'd say Landon Ferraro has pretty much made him obsolete...

They are missing McQuaid though... didn't think you would hear those words ever did you?

Nah... he didn't get hit by a car... I was just busting your chops haha Actually he fell off a cliff and died on impact. And you're right, it wasn't a personal attack, but I guess I was just fired up about Chara! And no, he didn't really fall off a cliff, that was just a Happy Gilmore reference.

And yes... I do remember the Seabass character quite well.... technically I don't know if he can be classified as a "rapist" since he got knocked out before he could commit any kind of rapery. Now whether that was a one time occurrence or a usual Tuesday afternoon for Seabass, we may never know!

Oh, I disagree entirely. This team lacks smart players. They also lack a guy that's going to hold them accountable. I love Bergeron and Chara. Love 'em. But they're such 'lead by example' guys. And their example is almost impossible to match. I've seen Kelly scream at the bench and get guys going when things go south.

I didn't get to see the whole game last night, but I'll admit from what I saw it looked like Chara had a pretty good game. I still saw a couple pinches that had my heart in my throat, but luckily they didn't kill us. I felt like he was on the ice way less, but he was at 27 minutes last night! I guess thats a good thing... for him to play that much and not really notice him. I know he was out there for a lot of the overtime though...

I just gotta say man... Marchand is really taking his game to the next level this season. That goal was absolutely ridiculous... to carry the puck up the ice, put it behind his back then between his legs, stick check Bogosian, and backhand it past Johnson all in one swift motion... it was absolutely beautiful.

And Seidenberg's diving stop in OT was a huge play too.

Chara looked good last night...but get him off the 4-3 powerplay in overtime! Between Bergeron,Krejci,Spooner,Krug,C.Miller, Marchand (who was great all game last night)...was Claude worried about giving up a shorty? Because if a short handed goal happens, it would probably be on a breakaway and Chara isn't gonna catch anyone.

If a team that is better situated to make a cup run is willing to overpay for Chara, and the no-traude clause issue can be overcome, why not get something for him while you still can? It all comes down to what other teams (Stars and Blackhawks perhaps?) would be willing to return, but if you can get a decent haul for him, do it.
