You have nothing. Give it up already. I like how you conveniently don't have anything for any of the other coaches. He doesn't exist in a vacuum.
- Wetbandit1

I have nothing ? He should have won more with that talent on that roster that's all I'm saying..

And the fact that he never made adjustments during a game when things got out of hand

Best is a stretch, Datsyuk killed it those days. But he was definitely amongst the best.

Well I suck

Was supposed to be Staals adv stats compared to Mike Richards, who finished 2nd in selke voting. The defensive numbers were almost identical. Ive lost all interest in the bylsma topic but Staal was absolutely a great 2 way centre.

- Sabresfan-365

Ok, maybe overrated was pushing it a bit, I was wound up. But he still wasn't hands down the best. I'd take both Kesler and Datsyuk at that time, both had way better numbers than Staal.

Yes, you have nothing. He won a way higher percentage of his games than most coaches. I'll go back to Al Arbour, he coached one of the best teams all time; the Islanders from 79-83. And his lifetime percentage was 49.3% with the Islanders. And during his 4 straight cups he won just north of 57% of his games. The very best coaches have lifetime winning percentages of a little more 50%. Bylsma is at 62.8% in his 6 years in Pittsburgh, but you can never be wrong right?

Um yeah who wouldn't but he was on the team that's why I'm making the point so he'll be the second best shutdown defenseman from datsyuk

Listen you can post all the stats you want but he is the most overrated coach ever he did nothing with the Elite talent he had and was gifted a cup ..

And who gives a poop he should win all those games He has all the talent come on now ..

Such a "great coach" and he couldn't stay with Pittsburgh why because he couldn't make it to the big one. Or maybe Mario smartened up and saw he can't handle game situations

He was 1 and done every time they made the playoffs his two best players in the game there's no excuse

I have a conundrum with Bylsma...
His Defense first, from the Goalie on out system is terrific for a young team to learn early and make second nature for the long haul. That is what we are seeing now, at the expense of the Offense.
The Offensive system sucks...they come into the O zone flat and often need to make very luck passes across 2 - 3 defenders to the open side...or cycle in the corners.
This is eerily similar to Lindy Ruff before the lockout...he was viewed as a Ofensive skill player killer.

Lindy after the lockout opened his game up and allowed the skilled forwards to use their creativity. Coming into the zone was on different levels...including the ultimate opportunity in The Trailer...a deadly weapon. Think back on how many goals were scored by the 4th man coming down the center of the ice a Lille delayed and there wide open.

Hopefully, when this team has all the studs on O replacing the slackers we have now...Bylsma will open his O up a bit knowing they play a 200 ft game and will come back hard...and have an above average goalie to bail them out (Lehner?, too early to tell for sure, but looking very promising).

Top two centers in the name
Top shutdown Center in the game
Top 10 defenseman
Top 10 goaltender
Top 15 winger in the game
The list goes on and on there's no excuse

- gerbe75pts

This is BS. Fleury vomited on himself several times during the playoffs. he couldn't stop a beach ball.

5 times fleury had a sub .900 sv%

Fleury was awful.

The Good :
Larsson is becoming a real NHL'er. Green light appears to be on.
Foligno, where has this type of play been from him all season?
Lehner, I may be gladly eating my words about him and to this point, to this point I am.

The Bad :
Risto, not one of his better games.
O'Reilly, doesn't look like the same guy out there lately.

The Ugly :
Moulson, 7:01 in TOI at 5 mill per for that .
Bogosian, I remember elevating my voice a few times last night towards the television and it was always because of number 47.

If the playoffs started today. All 7 Canadian teams would miss them. When is the last time that happened?

Tons of talent doesn't always means it blends, and Flurey didn't do them any favor some years in the playoffs

6 points out of 21st. 11 out of the 2nd WC spot. 6-4-0 in the last 10 and the best last 10 between us and the WC is 6-2-2. A younger me would look up and dream

Or maybe Fleury is the WORST playoff goalie of the past 10 years
He choked almost every year under Bylsma
Idk how u can discount that?

I wouldn't call it a diss so much as just an observation to be quite honest.

I do too.

However, this team is a much better team on the road than it is at home.
