Carey Price. Injury just goes to show how out of this world he is.

Goalies can't score goals. You need them to win. Price and Lundquist on the top of their games have a combined 0 cups...

Was watching the Montreal feed. They said Lehner is still not 100%. That his ankle gets worse throughout the game. His pain tolerance is impressive. If this is him not 100% imagine him at...

The guy is a gamer. I'm still not a fan of the trade but man he had looked the part in

A goalie two years from the average goalie prime and he's looking just fine to me. Maybe the armchair GMs didn't see as much as Murray. If that's even possible.

Building a franchise around a goaltender is a sure fire way to never winning a championship in today's NHL.

Time to go on our run to 9th
- chilliard77

It wouldn't be the end of the world in this case. They have their franchise player but I think one more top 3 pick would do wonders.

Edit: I would take a 9th place finish and win one of the lotteries!!!

He's been excellent, but there is also a way bigger sample size of him being below average. Time will tell

I wouldn't be super opposed to finishing 9th. Go on a late run this year and learn to win, then come out swinging next season.

His entire sample size shows him to be average .915 save percentage. He's been inconsistent. Really hot or cold. That's the key here. If he finds some stability I would take a .920 save percentage from him the rest of his career and be happy about it

Problem is they won't come out swinging if they are still missing that piece on the blue line or up front.

Yeah, because all of the Oilers recent #1 forwards are tearing up the NHL(as a team obviously).

When has that ever really happened though? A team can't take that much time off, lose players, gain new ones, and come into the next season still riding a hot streak.

Then why don't Lundquist or Price have any cups??

Edmonton's issue was they neglected the blue line for so long.

I don't mean literally the same hot streak, I mean more along the lines of our core meshing and learning to win games together, and bringing that experience into next season.

I believe that we a majority of the pieces in place we need to be a top team. Would I love a Puljujärvi, Chychrun, or Laine? You bet your ass, but I don't think they are absolutely crucial to our future success.

That's a huge drop in goals against. Too bad they had trouble scoring they could really be a playoff team IMO.

In all seriousness I don't think anyone predicted Moulson to be this bad. He should be around 11 goals by now so that's 7 more and Kane could seriously have 10 more but give me 3 more and there's 10 goals right there. Then there is Tyler Ennis...ill take 3 more from him and that's 13 and our differential is 8. I think that's 6 more points conservatively. Still out of the playoffs but within real striking distance.

Get me a top 6 forward at the draft please and make a push for Yandle.

You always want to start building a team from the middle. Franchise center, #1 defenseman, above average goalie. Defense is where the Oilers have missed the boat.

Sure, I get that you weren't being literal, but the guys being better locker room buddies > adding Puljujarvi to the line up next year. Nah, tank on.

And so much for how good we thought last season goalies were.
