Funny how he had to check out his own brand before he did a kind of stinkpalm to his lady friend.

I just think it is funny that you illegitimize the stats Voracek put up is because professional athletes are supposedly out of shape
- YuenglingJagr

That's fine but there is a world of difference between a 82 game schedule and a 48 game schedule. His points count, which is great. However his 22 goals suggest he could have had 40 goals in a full season that year and we all know this is unlikely for Jake.

It's a fact we didn't have training camp and it's a fact that not every player played elsewhere during the lockout.

17%? That's awful. If I had got that on a test, I'd have been in big trouble.

If Tampa Bay put Stamkos on the block right now, I think they'd take Voracek for him straight up. I'm not saying Voracek is a better or worse player than Stamkos, but because Jake is locked up long term and Stamkos is looking more and more like an upcoming UFA, I think TB takes the plunge and makes the deal.
- jmatchett383

The problem is, the word "Elite" around here like the word "love" in a teenage relationship doomed to last two weeks. Stamkos is an elite sniper. He has hardware proving that he's one of the best at what he does.

I don't know the stipulation of whatever clauses Stamkos has in his deal but if I could hypothetically trade Voracek for Stamkos, I would. We could use a guy who's specialty is shooting the puck and this is no knock on Voracek. I just don't think Voracek is viewed around the league as special a player as Stamkos. I think Stamkos brings back a bigger return in any deal. Plus Stamkos would bring an interesting one-two punch.

I don't know how else to explain to you that 48 Games in a season is more physically demanding than 82.

I don't know how else to explain to you that the guys are playing the same amount of games as everyone else in the NHL. Wouldn't your "playing in Europe" thing work against a guy and make it more physically demanding?

This is all under the assumption that you actually meant to write 82 games is more demanding than 82...even though 48 games was packed tighter

In the first two weeks of the season, Jake had 3 points, including 1 goal, in the first 8 games of the season. Doesn't appear as if he hit the ground running dominating people because he played abroad...like many many others. The ones who didn't were training rigorously -- not swimming in liquified Haagen Dazs. 8 games sounds like enough for everyone to get in the flow of things. Jake didn't get into the swing of things until after that.

I'm not holding Jake Voracek to this amazing elite level standard because he was awesome in a 48 game half season 4 seasons ago. News Flash, we're at the 48 Game mark right now and he has 8 goals. Elite players do what the elite players are doing right now at tip top shape and they do it every year.

Sanheim is probably even a better QB than Provorov. He might be Ghost good. And Provy is very very good. Let that sink in haha. Myers has shown to have a lethal shot on the PP in his first real usage there this year; I believe Friedman is very good at it too. The time will come when both units could very well have 2 D on them each who are stud QBs. Going to have to change up the unit structure.

Practice in my opinion isn't the same as games. We don't know if every player was practicing while others were playing over seas. We didn't know whether or not there was gonna be a season. From my understanding, during a lockout, players don't get paid, therefore don't have to do anything.
